I saw on the GTD entry list for car #43 Andretti GTD. That screams to me Jarret Andretti taking the Petty car number that his dad drove for many years in NASCAR. I don't watch it now. But I loved Winston Cup and John Andretti was my favorite driver in the late 90s. I hope their car sports Petty blue too.

Thats just it, JOTA, Proton, JDC liveries all work. Fantastic. I would love the Penske ones since they are the factory team to use the 2017 919/911 RSR livery myself.

I doubt they can make it fit at the big events, it's 10/12 races and 5 or 6 tracks

I would guess the mid-season races and probably Indy

Good on Hanson. I genuinely didn't think he would be in contention for a top-class drive, or that he would be bold enough to move away from United to get it, even temporarily. There's faster drivers still not in LMH/LMDh, albeit not many of them, so I still think the full season LMH drive is fanciful unfortunately.

I suppose with Pierson's star still rising he isn't UA's golden boy any more, and he would have had plenty of advice on offer from Albuquerque, Blomqvist and Jarvis about the successes and pitfalls of IMSA racing. This puts Hanson out of contention for UA's full season. United could do with a top-class partnership sooner rather than later, or more of their drivers are going to be looking elsewhere.

Thanks, I hoped that be the case. That just leaves one seat to fill. I wonder if Porsche will help them land a current or recent factory driver?

Didn't they both get bumped out of LMP2 being bumped to Gold, or was Phil bumped up last season and is Pierson silver until he's 18 in Feb? Pierson is also running Indy NXT full season next season as well instead of a partial. Racer article made it sound like Hanson was pursing a Hypercar ride in WEC for the season. Have to assume that's trying to get in Jota or Proton cars since Toytota, Ferrari and Caddy appear filled. but maintaining the same car and getting more seat time with JDC-Miller could be a good seller for him

Hanson was UA's super silver until he & Albuquerque (and Di Resta to a lesser extent) won basically everything in 2020. He's been gold since then, which is about right for his pace/consistency. Pierson will be gold from the start of the next season, the ACO aren't even waiting for his 18th birthday, and I don't blame them; barring disaster he'll be a factory driver before he's 20.

Hanson has stated in public his desire to be in LMH/LMDh, and this move heavily implies he doesn't see that happening at United in the near future. I don't see any team (Jota/Proton/WRT) taking him over their current drivers, so hopefully he impressed at JDC-Miller. As for UA, it's now pretty clear that they won't be making the step up for at least next year, and probably the year after. Brown & Dean must be sweating a bit at this stage.
