Because Flammini wanted too much money to host it and Palmer stood to make a loss even thjough he could guarantee a big crowd, this was before he got BS aswell.
This is why Dorna now have 2 races in Spain and why they go to Russia, Qatar, were going to Turkey, Welkom. They only go to places that pay top dollar, any track that his history but cant afford the going rate is dumped. Incidentally, this is also why Silverstone lost the GP round to a track that isn't even built yet, Dorna wanted 5 million up front to even host it, which is why they had to put proces up to 80 odd quid. Reminds me of World Cup to Qatar. Still it's Ezpeleta, and all he cares about is who pays the most. |

Magny Cours.
Bit wet in Magny Cours last weekend. The superstock races were interesting; lots of drama and incident. A few team orders in the big class too!
The braking zone into the hairpin claimed more victims than you could shake a stick at, it was bizarre to see riders braking in what looked like a straight line and yet have the bike suddenly drop from underneath them as if someone had just snatched it away. Must be scary as hell. I can only relate it to falling off my push bike on black ice. It's sudden and nasty! Great too see Haslam get back on the podium. Looks like the manufacturers title may slip through Kawasaki's hands again (the riders title is by no means gauranteed either), bit of a shame for them. Fingers may be pointed at the second rider's inconsistency. Last edited by cg7aa; 10 Oct 2014 at 04:37. |

The 3C Racing Panigales looked really nice I thought. I liked their colour scheme.

I thought it was rather odd that the team T-shirts didn't actually have his name on it, when I saw that I thought 'I bet they are not tetaining him next season!' with that kind of generic shirt. I got rather tired of all the talk of team orders, I think it misses the fundamental point that in a primarily individual sport like bike racing, why would any would be champion want to rely on favours from a team mate? It surely diminshes any wins when people can point and say 'he only won it because so and so gave up points'. Let's not forgot Tom was 44 points ahead with only three rounds to go but problems with the bike and/or rider in wet conditions made a big dent in that lead. My only disappointment if I can call it that, is for Kawasaki as a manufacturer. I feared they would come away with nothing. Given where they have come from over the last decade, the manufacturer's title would have been good for them. Baz had one too many moments and potentially cost them the points in that respect. So, how many rounds into next year before we start hearing of commentators trying to engineer a spat between Sykes and Rea? |

Why didn't Sylvain get presented with the big bronze (and heavy) SBK trophy on the podium after he won the championship, as has happened for donkeys years?
Or have Dorna done away with that trophy? |

The 2015 AMA Yamaha Superbike looks the goods.
http://youtu.be/d5YOxS0FMds BMW don't usually race half committed so it will be about the riders. |

That was an entertaining race 1 - good to see 4 riders at the front battling it out. The rookies rode well too.
Pity Guigliano got injured as the Ducati is obviously a darn good bike this year! |

It was a classic WSBK weekend. All the three races offered great racing. I love this series so much more than MotoGP, I am so glad it is back!!!
He's injured. He could barely race. Considering the circumstances, I think he did very well. A classic Sofuoglu. Fast, but making mistakes. I am afraid he'll be beaten again this year. Great recovery though - from 19th to 6th. He's a great talent. Bet he'll win a race this year. Very good performance from the old man, BTW. It's a shame he had tyre problems though. I have a secret hope he'll do more races. Last edited by Stahler; 23 Feb 2015 at 20:04. |

Very entertaining opening round of the British Superbike Championship
Phillip Island on the whole produces such great racing, we'll have to wait to find out if the good racing was due to just the circuit or the new rules tweaks. It was certainly gloves off at the front, no quarter asked for and none given! |

Great racing to start the season, brilliant return to form for Haslam and Brit dominated podium. Great to have Bayliss back for a one off
