Matt

Many thanks, I'd forgotten all about that!
So, Acheson presumably replaced it with an ex Piquet car.
I think that his 1977 RT1 car stays in Italy after Pardini uses it, so Acheson, presumably buys chassis 112, as we know that 131 was the Gomm car, being used in 1979 by Placido Inglesias.

Do you have a date for the report on that fire?

The Acheson RT1 fire must have been early that year Chris, perhaps after the first race or 2. He had a 793 by mid-season didn't he?

Yes indeed Dan, he had 793-13 in time for Monaco. I'm wondering if he used both Ralts in the first few races of the British series or whether the first was before the season started.

Also, just sending you a private email

Richard Fry was reportedly about to use an F2 Hart RT1 for climbing in 1981. Was this the ex-Cheever/Alo car, vaguely rings a bell??

Hi,
does anyone know the early history of my Ralt RT 1, chassis 46 ?
The earliest info that I have is that Marcus Pye imported it from France where it had been used in the Avia sponsored Racing school.

Thanks
Rudolf

Guten Tag Rudolph,

Ralt RT1 chassis no.46 was a Toyota F3 car, and was originally allocated to customer / driver C.McCarty.

Ralt Rt1 No 46

Hi,
thanks for posting this bit about Mc Carthy which I had already read elsewhere here in the thread.

It is the bit between Mc Carthy and the Avia La Chartre racing school that I am after.

Did the car ever run in the italian F3 championship ?
If so who ran it ?

Thanks
Rudolf

RT-1 snaps from North America.....

I covered have pics of most if not all of the RT-1s that ran in the Atlantic series on this side of the world. I've just started scanning my pics...about 75k altogether and have many thousands of Atlantic pics. I will be adding more to the set as time and energy allow.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/4668198...7623186773769/

I haven't uploaded any yet but am pretty sure I have pics of RT-1s in Super Vee trim too.

RT1-119

I have Ken Duclos' F/A RT-1 sn119. Ken raced this car in the late 70's on the east coast circuits. Do you have any pics of his car, multicolored dark and light blue in Trojan Tools livery?
thx

RTS911:

I do have snaps of the Duclos car. I'll put it on the list of images I need to track down and scan.

If memory serves he and Price Cobb had a rather "spirited" encounter at Lime Rock in 78.

Am I correct?

Greetings Marc
sounds like you know more than me. i have been in contact with Ken but nothing to the detail you mention. there is a real scarcity of info on the Atlantic series so anything you have would be appreciated.
i will ping Ken and see what he comes up with about his dice with Cobb.
thx

RT1 #123

Hello,

looking for information and photos of RT1 123 driven by Thorkild Thyrring in the 1978 British F3.
We are about to start the restoriation of the car.
I think it was painted in red & white colours, he was sponsored by Marlboro.

RT 147 and 34

Hello:
I am looking for RT1 147 and 34. These are cars we campaigned in the North American Atlantic series in 1979 and 1980. 147 was delivered new to us via the importer Brian Robertson and we bought 34 from somebody in the US. Wonering if anyone has any knowledge where they are now.

Thanks,
Tom Gloy

Greetings Mr. Gloy,

I enjoyed watching you race in the Atlantic series. No idea how much info marc was able to provide, but I thought Joe Castellano had one of your cars back in the day. '81-'82.

Joey Castellano's car was John Paul's 1979 chassis, he confirmed this to me a couple of years ago.

I think that Tom's cars might be a bit trickier to find. The last handle I have on any of them at the moment is 1982.

Ok, thanks. I recall the Doc's livery as light blue with yellow trim, and thought Mr. Gloy's car had been the same. "Sunbeam" sponsorship, perhaps?
