I have a new set of JM9 side pods, email me if still interested, I am in the US,west coast. They can be crated and shipped anywhere. $500 US dollars for the pair FOB Seattle Washington. They were sent directly to us from Argo for our JM9 Atlantic they were the last style produced and Jo liked them better than the first shape.

Is David Clark's CF3 Argo a JM6? At the Gold Cup the nose at least looked 'JM3-ish'. Anyone know?

Roberto Guerrero's Argo JM6 History
Just came across this thread browsing the net.
My Dad (Alf Zeller) purchased the Roberto Guerrero works JM6 from the factory. That car was converted to SCCA C sports racing spec with custom bodywork and a watercooled VW Super Vee engine installed. It did very well at the SCCA runoffs (3rd in ~83). I think he ran the car from 83-85/86. From what I remember the car was sold back to the UK and converted back to F3 trim. Hopefully that info helps close the loop on the history of the car. Cheers |

I worked there around that time, guys in blue coats are kevin Sutcliffe and Don Peterson, Kev was top mechanic and Don was engine builder.

I think only 1 ever raced in England, late '85, an American called Bobby Carville. Maybe he took it back to the State with him?

JM14s were made under license by Manadient Engineering in eastern England so Argo were not necessariy aware how many had been built. The highest number known is 081, the 14th built, but there may have been more. "JM01B-HK86" seems a very curious number. Could you post an image of the plate?

Allen Karlberg was definitely involved in that period but I'm afraid I can't explain that plate. Did he tell you where he got it from?

I'll ask him tomorrow. He told me he was involved with this chassis from the time it was built so who knows.
It's definitely fast as it turns a bit less than a second off what a lot newer (1999 Mygale) chassis does at a nearby track. Al was behind the wheel at the time and he really seems to be a great driver so that doesn't hurt. |

I have a couple of JM 14 FF2000. That is not!!! a JM 14.All the 14's had rocker rear suspension. The front chassis around cockpit area is different as well.Interesting.. PM me if you would like some photo's of my cars.

It was described to me by Al as "...the proto-type for the chassis series... bankrolled by a rich Swedish playboy..." He may have said Swiss, my notes aren't in front of me just now.
He also said it had been modified through the years and totaly rebuilt in the early 90's. He's hunting up the old log books for us now. I can take better, more detailed pictures of the bare chassis later on this winter after the clutter has settled. We moved into this new shop just a few months ago and I'm still looking for things in misc. boxes. |

You are correct with the above that the car was driven by Bobby Carville, after he left the car stayed with Argo and the drive was taken up by Jo Lindstrum

All,
For what it is worth, I have an Argo JM4-31 SV that I purchased from Al Karlberg a few years ago. It has been sitting in a back corner of my shop for a while, but we have begun the effort to restore it. If anyone knows the history, much appreciated. Thanks, Dennis |

Hi Lawrance,very sorry I have not sent you the photo's of my JM14. We have moved workshop and been very busy. I will do it tomorrow. BTW John Eddie;s car was a JM14b.This is very much a different car to the early 14..Happy New Year to all my Argo freinds.
