I'm not sure if 'Challenge Endurance Proto' or any of those other things is particularly more attractive than ELMS.
But if they were allowed and someone actually did bring P3 over to there, at least someone would be running those things somewhere which can't be overly bad thing? |

It's not more attractive, but it would (at least) double the market for those cars... and with a tight cost cap, constructors need to sell cars in numbers in order to recoup their costs.
So if VdeV, and maybe some other national prototype series, jumped onto the P3 train, that would radically improve the economic of the class for the constructors. How many cars can they realistically hope to sell in an ELMS-only class? There's no saying if there'll even be an AsLMS next year and TUSC might stick to PC for another ten years for all we know or scrap the class altogether without replacement. |

LMP3 cars looks really close to LMP2, much more than my expectations. It won't be very difficult jump from LMP3 to LMP2

They look so bulbous. I get theyre for small teams but imo, not very eye pleasing.

So just like old LMPC, they'll be allowed to run in the Test Day.
Call me crazy but if there were more garage slots at Sarthe (as there should be) and maybe further few GTE slots were axed, I wouldn't mind see a mini 3 or 5 car class of P3s out there. Automatic invites from previous year or something. Capped to such small figure so that teams would still aim up for P2 but there was a real carrot to be grabbed. |

Ginetta's modified track car version of the P3 (eglible for series such as DSC) will have maximum option of 575bhp, which is around 155bhp more than the actual LMP3, and up to P2 levels...
http://www.gtspirit.com/2014/10/13/o...lmp-track-car/ Looks far smoother in design that the actual P3. Wish the actual ACO eglible had this look too |

excellent. even if nothing comes of all these new chassis appearing for lmp2 and lmp3, all this designing and innovating is excellent for the engineering industry.
is there really that huge a market for trackday cars? |

The 'track day' cars can complete in Dutch Supercar Challenge, Britcar, VdeV and couple of others, so there are places other than just for display

Looks like Wolf canned their P3 project, focusing on the P2 instead:

Because they're stubborn and wishing to dismiss customers with eglible equipment “We’re starting from a [clean sheet] of paper with LMP3. -- We forget [CN] totally because the ACO creates a new category. - The CN has been around for a lot of years, and to be honest, the safety rules of the car is totally obsolete. We don’t want to compare CN and LMP3. We want both categories to compete in the Asian Le Mans Series for the next three seasons, but at the end, we want more and more LMP3s.” http://sportscar365.com/lemans/elms/...per-with-lmp3/ |
