As you point out promax, this is the 2013 V8ST thread, not a D1NZ thread.

But anyway, you go fill ya boots with drifting this year

He may also look a bit out of place hanging out with all the young-uns in their flat back caps and oakley shades sipping on redbull and saying things like 'crazy shizzle ma nizzle, dope slide by mad mike, that bwoy had it mean as close to dat clipping point ya'll'

Wonder if he has a trench coat?

Have been for a ride in an NZV8 on skiddy tyres - most entertaining and not too far off a drifter - car filled with tyre smoke regularly! Was rather fun

Only 4 weeks to go now until R1 at HD. Not that far away, and ahead of V8SC, and F1

Although I am not an ST spokesperson, I will do my best to give you answers as I see them...

1. An interesting idea (fairly long shot perhaps) that has yet to bear fruit

2. See answer above

7. I doubt it

8. Is there such a thing in motorsport? If it makes them faster, bring it on

9. Ask Raymond re Round 2, and Highlands re Round 6

10. Having never been to an ST event, how the hell would you know what they sound like? They sound awesome in fact, and I'm a Ford fan!

you beat me to it GB.

Some people just can't deal with innovation and enterprise.

Shame, they are missing out on something really quite cool IMO

You're probably right there Mike, but a season or two back in Tier 1, he often didn't turn up at tracks to front for TKR either. I often thought that was rather odd.

Totally agree and I am sure we will see The Giz behind the wheel of an ST in the
very near future.

However this is Promax's way of slipping the **** into the ST cars and series.
12 months ago he was king of the site, spouting about the new generation
NZV8's and that they would be looking at huge fields this season.

Not much in the way of new news coming from the likes of Maxi today, a very
quite man indeed, in regards to the new NZV8 season.

Wow when push came to shove and history was finally written, the NZV8's
met their demise. The only thing left for Maxi and his one or two poor loosers,
is to try and poor cold water on the new ST's. By trying to down grade these
cars, because they use the same power plant in both Ford and Holden.

Well you might think you know, I imagine he will be back in a SC, although you can never rule out them good ole' boys in NASCAR either. Ambrose seems to be doing quite well over there, turning left all the time

I once asked Shane if he had aspirations of getting into open wheel more seriously, but no, tin tops were where he has always wanted to be.

For the benefit of Promax and the other usual suspects I will post a little story that might help them understand were they went wrong.

I sponsor Andy Booth in Supertourers, throughout the season I had corporate hospitality and I hosted clients and suppliers at , Hampton Downs, Taupo & Pukekohe. Some of those that came where true motorsport fans and know what is what, but some (most), only had a passing interest, so, they had lots of questions about the cars throughout the day, when they found out they all had the same power plant do you know what they said Promax? "Wow! really? I guess it doesn't matter as long as we enjoy the racing"
At the first round I struggled to give away tickets, by the time Taupo rolled around I had a wait list, those thought couldn't get tickets from me, actually bought their own!
Thats what it is about, getting the casual punter in, you need bums on seats and bums on the couch to watch otherwise you don't get the all important sponsorship and advertising dollars. The photos of the NZV8s at round 1 are clear testimony to that, with a clear shortage of sponsorship logos, even on the new cars it is clear that they have struggled to get sponsorship.

In saying that if there was a full field of new NZV8s the casual punter would enjoy himself if the racing was good, and he wouldn't sit there wondering what powerplant was driving the car, otherwise he would go "Wait....I just bought a Camry, I don't remember a V8 being an option?......"

Could you imagine a Camry with a v8 in it, front wheel drive sledding into the corner with amazing torque steer on the way out. Maybe the Hybrid Camry has 2 power sources so you could be allowed to have a twin engine beast like the Suzuki that Monster Tajima made for the pikes peak.
