Thanks to Catherine Emberson for sharing a nice collection of pictures of Mike with the Ember Racing Team, that are now added to the Tribute album.
A reminder of what Delta would describe as 'Happy Days' Thank you Catherine. |

It's a mark of the man how many have donated photos to the album. And each picture tells a nice story too, just how Mike would have wanted.

Mike - a few words.
I first met Mike about 15 years ago when we were both co-driving MGBs in the Autosport Three Hour Race at Snetterton. We had a common interest as we were both building racing Escorts at the time. It was suggested that we share a car for the 360, which was the start of Team Tango & lead to us sharing each other’s cars at Snetterton, Spa, Silverstone & Sebring, all the ‘S’s. (I would start & Mike would finish any two driver races, as it’s easier to tighten belts at a driver change than loosen them!) Mike was impressed with the fact that I didn’t eat often, but not at the amount I eat when I do. We also shared a like of Leffe beer, which again he would stop drinking long before I would. He told me of his plan to downsize and buy his beloved truck so he could go motor racing in Europe, as 70 wasn’t too far off and here we are today. He was very proud of his truck, especially the ‘Vehiculo Longo’ sign on the back. Mike touched so many, both at circuits and online, his infectious smile & laughter will be sorely missed. RIP (Race in Paradise) my friend. |

Nice memories Cliff.
I had the pleasure of staying in the Mike's truck cab one year at Croft. He was in the main accommodation in the trailer. This was not too long after he got the rig. A generous offer from him for what was 5 star comfort. I had to take special care to keep everything looking pristine. Thanks Mike and thanks too for being such a memorable and gracious host on a number of occasions. |

Mike, RIP but not forgotten
I can’t compete with the tributes so eloquently put so far.
Just to say that as a team mate for the last 5 years, Mike made a big impression on us both intellectually and spiritually. Although he didn’t suffer fools, he had a great sense of humour, the joy of which we so often shared on the pit wall. I will miss Mike on those early misty mornings loading the truck, and also side by side on the racetracks of Europe fighting for position. |

never having met Mike I spent my minute looking at the pictures in the tribute album and have just read everyone's latest comments. To quote Murray Walker "I have a lump in my throat".
RIP Mike. |

By coincidence I ordered a new book yesterday on the subject of Gilbern. Talking with the author, he had met Mike & written a magazine article about his Gilbern GT.

At least he had a good life and touched the lives of so many people on here. Can’t control fate, but at least you guys and gals all have plenty of memories of him. RIP Mike
