Note that main Google Maps is out of date. Black line indicates new section of circuit but "Street View" works on the circuit AND it's the new circuit.

Phil
the old "freehand" drawn black line was pretty much spot on then. I think google update the aerial map every 5 years or so. Like the streetview option.

Sadly it looks like some flag points have been moved by people less than adept at using google maps (flag posts 2, 9 & 22 stand out). The joys of open collaboration.

Tim, can you fix, I'm in France so lack a reference document.

have fun everyone.

Brooklands for me.

For the last couple of years I've camped for the GP, but I now live close enough to Silverstone that I dont need to (plus I really dont want a repeat of last year's fun and games)

Whats it like commuting to and from the circuit each day, especially race day? Traffic chaos or is it ok? Am I right in thinking marshals normally park in the car park that we walk through to get from the camp site to the circuit?

We've commuted in the last few years and had no trouble. Getting up that early is a bit of a pain, but sleeping in my own bed makes it worth it.
Yes you're right about where we park.

I shifted Luffield In (flag post 13) as it now sits basically underneath the tower at Luffield Centre.

If you're a real anorak, not only can you "drive" around the new circuit but you can stop and do a 360 degree view to find your post, and then use the +- setting to examine the luxurious 5 star accommodation provided for your enjoyment.

Not that I'm an anorak of course. No,no,no.

Current Street View Lap Time from pole: 5min 25 secs !

Thanks for that. I'm not a Silverstone regular and didn't know it had moved. At least I now know where to go on Friday morning. I assume the PCs hut is still on the outside of the bend?

Hello, can you please explain what you mean by "early"? What time do you aim to get there to avoid the traffic build-up? I also live close-ish (normal journey time 40 minutes from M1 direction) and did NOT enjoy my first camping experience in years last year, so would seriously consider driving in each day as long as it wasn't silly-o'clock. What about driving home at night - do you have to hang around for ages to avoid the traffic at that end of the day?

We need one of those things that they use for NASCAR to show you which car is which with an arrow that follows it around.

Every time someone from 10ths appears on screen a box pops up with an arrow and the 10ths name on it.
