This is the new all time lap record. Stuck went 3.14.8 in 1985. Without the chicanes that is.

For interest this is what I read from the in car speedo on the 3.14 lap.
Mulsanne to first chicane 336kph
Mulsanne to second chicane 331kph
Mulsanne to corner 322kph
To Indianoplis 329kph

There was a lot of noise on the measurement, but I took an eyes view of a steady value. 330 was there for a frame down to Indy for instance.

yes, i noticed those as well. he didn't even need any slipstream on the straights. but 336 km/h without drafting is quite high, i remember the peugeots used to do that type of speeds in 2008 and traveled through the traps at 345 km/h with some drafting. the 2015 audi used to hit 345 km/h with no drafting though, i think that was the fastest i've ever seen. curious to see if toyota will manage to beat that 3:17.475 that audi did in the race in 2015. right now they seem really able to do so.

They are saying the track will get quicker. I bet Kobayashi could hit a 3:13 if they let him do another lap. But I don't see the point anymore other than even more bragging rights. Maybe Porsche will just pack up and go home if Koby does a 3:12-13

Cooler air might help later.

For LMP2, the new LMP2 pole time is faster than the Audi R8 by about 5 seconds. Its only 2 seconds slower than the Audi R10 managed, as a full Audi dream team effort.

The LMP2 fastest time of 3:25.55 would have been good for overall pole in 2011. That year, pole time was 3:25.738.

Well, Ford last year were cheating lying *******s, and they have the gall to moan when people don't trust the AT ALL this year.

I hope GTE Pro can get back to being a fair fight again.
