Hi Fellow mini racers
I race in the mini Se7en championship and we are always looking for minis to join in and race with us! All you need is a race licence and a mini that complys with the msa regs http://www.mini7.co.uk/invitation.html Looking forward to hearing from you Shaun Tarlton |

Most of us have already raced in the national Mini classes mate.
I prefer to race in Europe now, the tracks are (for me) more interesting and there is far less/or no contact. Entry fees are cheaper and generally there is more track time. Best of luck |

I live near a port, so it's actually a lot easier for me to get to Spa etc than to Oulton, Cadwell etc.
Track time, well it's usually 1.5 hours in total. But 1.5 hours of track time at Spa is worth a season of trudging round somewhere like Silverstone National. So probably not is the answer. to your question. No disrespect to Mighties, Se7ens and Migs, they are all excellent championships and I (mostly) enjoyed the time I spent in them. |

Does anyone know why Bill Richards' KAD 16v engine snapped a con rod which holed the block and gearbox casing? Design fault or lack of maintenance from Bill?

After spending the latter part of 2014 learning how to weld and spray
(badly) and an intense couple of months in 2015 getting ' the sow's ear' back together again, Chris and I were out again on Sunday ( 12th April) at the CSCC's meeting on Snetterton's 300 circuit. Only change required from Mig. spec was a larger fuel tank and a set of 12" wheels with Yoko A48R's and narrower arches. Car went well in practice as Chris learnt the differences between Dunlop racers and the Yoko's but the session was curtailed by a dramatic oil leak from the diff. which covered the start/finish straight in white smoke. No damage done but I had insufficient tools/ spares and a worrying amount of play in the cover bearings to consider running the race. We were encouraged by the Min's pace and Silverstone and Brands are to follow. Will keep all you fellow Mini men posted. Anybody else got plans for this year ? |

Me and my brother are also competing in the cscc swinging sixties this year with my brothers mini,we were scheduled to race at snetterton but unfortunately I damaged the car at castle combe the week before when a bmw spun in front of me and I had nowhere to go but into it so that demolished the front and bent the subframe, radiator etc, so we couldnt get it ready for the following weekend. we have entered silverstone ,brands and yesterday spa so a busy season after 6 years away from mini racing.

Hi Guys just to keep you up to date I have sadly decided to put my Mini up for sale.
I have had a great deal of fun racing it but it's time to move on to something new. Quick run down of spec, though a fair few of you know the car well: Bill Richards 1380cc race engine with 115bhp when last on rolling road. Engine spec: 1275 A+ block, Omega pistons, ARP bolts, Crank A+ X Drill, AP Paddle type clutch, Piper320 camshaft, 4 speed straight cut box, Tranex twin pin diff with 3:9:1 ratio, Webber 45doce, running on Castrol R. Car: 1990’s all steel shell built for myself to race by Moorespeed. Fabricage roll cage, plumbed in Lifeline fire safety system, Corbeau Revolution wrap round seat with 5 point black 3” harness, race fuel tank, full metal dash with rev counter etc, wipers system including washer tank, all steel bolt on and off front with metal bonnet, large rear anti-roll bar. Revolution 10” wheels on Dunlop Miglia spec slicks all used, also have wets. Quantum single adjuster dampers. Car weighs 666KG with me in it and all my race wear Lapped Lydden in 48 seconds, Brands Hatch 58 seconds. Never been involved in any big crashes, never been on its roof. It has many class wins to its name and in 2009 it won a round of the BARC-SE Tin Tops outright. It also won the 2012 SEMSEC Sports and Saloon Championship This is a good club spec car, it’s not perfect and could do with a bit of tidying here and there but done me very proud, sad to see it go. £5000 ONO 07941165994 Serious enquiries only please. My box trailer is also for sale. Rob if you could spread the word to the BCT crowd? |

For those of our mini friends that don't follow us on face book. Purple racing are pleased to say that after a very hard year of racing at Hockenheim, Spa, Assen, Nurburgering, etc we have come away at the end of the season with a One two. James Lindridge was first and Gordon Scott second. A fantastic season and believe me when I say it was well worth the effort of the extra travelling. James Set many fastest laps and was on pole at most events.
Kad supplied both engines and we have nothing but praise for the effort and support they have given us through the season. A special thanks to all those that have supported us over the years. Roll on 2016. |

We enjoyed our first season with the CSCC Swinging Sixties despite a pretty depressing run of reliability issues. Great racing (can feel like a 40 min sprint race rather than a mini-enduro) with some very quick minis and sprites. We even finished the season off on a high with a win at Donington (by 0.4 of a second!). And don't even think we've worn out a set of tyres yet too... Hope all mini racers, former, current and future, are well. Chris & Richard |

Afternoon folks.
I have a message from Robert Knox that may interest some of you: Reference 12th August Lydden: I'm organising a race meeting for mostly the old SEMSEC crew in connection with the classic touring car club they have a meeting at Lydden on the 12th & we can have qualifying + 2 races same a SEMSEC for £15 membership & £250 for the meeting. Only difference is I can't get a standing start. If you need any more info let drop me a line regards Robert. Sounds good to me. I am in the process of sorting a car for that meeting, it would be great to see some of us back out there. |

This thread in the Historic racing section discusses a "mini libre" concept to support the Miglia grids.
http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...ghlight=Miglia Not sure why it wasn't posted here. Anyone know any more? Is it going well? Of course, I would argue that "libre" minis and miglias could always race within the cscc Special Saloons and Modsports series, on slicks and wets, including the chance to race at Spa (on list 1c tyres) if they wished, but I am biased! |
