They explained this a year or two ago. The way the Vette's refueling system works it actually needs to be a bit different to match it to the other cars. As for the speed of pit stops, Team Falken Tire is quicker, and BMW Team RLL is just as quick as Corvette Racing. Last edited by Mechanic Z; 25 Aug 2013 at 19:38. |

Anybody have any insight on this? Announced this morning, Guy Cosmo is out at Extreme Speed Motorsport effective immediately. Replaced for Baltimore by Anthony Lazzaro.

Wasn´t Cosmo regularly the fastest of the ESM drivers? If so, strange to let your fastest driver go.

If you can't beat 'em... buy out their contract.

What on EARTH is so lame about a driver leaving one team, for reasons yet unknown to us, and taking the best opportunity available to him?
You people, again without knowing any FACTS, act like Guy Cosmo should have sat out the rest of the season or something! It's a JOB not a freaking noble crusade. They go where they can best further their careers and if a door closes they immediately explore other openings jut like YOU would if you and your boss had a falling out or if you thought the grass was greener at another company. Sheeeesh... PS: pulling for ESM even more when for all we know they screwed Cosmo over? Not saying that is what happened but playing ESM as the innocents here has yet to be proven. No indication that Level 5 poached ESM's driver or that there is anything underhanded about this deal. |

And now it seems that we have a major issue between Patrick Dempsey and Michael Avenatti over their Tully’s Coffee investment. This might explain why Avenatti was dropped from Dempsey’s car at Le Mans and why the second (#10) Dempsey Del Piero Racing car hasn’t raced since Laguna Seca.
Business Week provides some details here. |

Avenatti's shenanigans were not discovered until very recently so Le Mans probably had nothing to do with this. Dempsey never had any money invested in Tully's so it would be very interesting to know the details of the sponsorship agreement. |

He doesn't have any money involved in Dempsey Racing either. OPM, baby. I bet they move up to GTLM next year with a 991. PCNA is based in Atlanta, Dempsey's shop is close. Porsche has gotten a ton of PR out of the LeMans deal this year.

A bit more information on Lazzaro: He turned 50 this week (August 26th to be exact — Happy Belated Birthday!) which knocked him down a driver rating level to silver.

Sorry but nowhere in the rules does it say that if (age < 50) = Silver. He'd have to be 55 to drop down from Gold.
Though "Driver ratings are determined at the sole discretion of IMSA and are not subject to protest or appeal." is the most important part of the rules... |

You're suggesting that ESM dumped Cosmo, who was obviously already within the (admittedly asinine) driver rules, in favor of a guy who was newly available within the (admittedly asinine) driver rules?

I am truly confused. Why did Cosmo leave ESM? What is the issue or argument that was being had?

Heck if I can find it, but some distinguished poster around here said Guy was sacked by ESM, and then called L5 to see about a job. But who really knows...

Unless Guy and Ed are both great actors, the intro to the Baltimore race on ABC makes me feel like Guy and Sharp weren't getting along, be it driving setup or personal, and so allowing Guy to look for another opportunity. I've been lucky enough to have always worked for guys with the attitude like Ed Brown, if things aren't working here it's best for both parties to part ways.

Maybe there was a big disagreement about something between driver and team which lead to them going separate ways. Maybe Cosmo fell out of favor with Ed and was pushed or walked...
Nothing weird here it does happen folks |

I need a big favour: could someone report me the top speed reached by lmp1, lmp2, lmpc, gt, gtc cars during road america week-end? I searched on imsaracing.net hoping to find a .pdf that could reveal what I need, but nothing usefull found. Thanks in advance.

Ed Brown stated at Baltimore that Cosmo and another driver(Sharp) don't like each other and been fighting all year.
