I agree, I like the shark fins too. Can't imagine that the sponsors would be to pleased with the demise of the shark fins, they are very good ad hoardings, number too. |

That has to be flow viz paint.
Anyhow... I wonder if there is a potential for the aero devices making cockpit egress harder? What happens when you as a driver are trying to get out, grab the halo to help pull yourself out and pull off a handful of aero treatments instead? They should have specified a aero neutral cross section (they may have) and not allowed anything to be attached to the halo itself. Richard |

So it could make an ugly device even uglier

3 engines per car is now set for 2018.
https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/f...e-rule-986349/ Would love to see the Ferrari engines cost them the championship next year. |

Tbh that would be justice if it costs Ferrari, but I just can’t see that happening. Yet more loaf in the sand thinking from the FIA

The FiA has tweaked the rules in readiness for the fracas that will be because of the engine related grid penalties for the upcoming season.
"A change to the power unit penalty system was also approved, whereby if a driver incurs a penalty exceeding 15 grid places he will be required to start the race from the back of the starting grid. If more than one driver receives such a penalty they will be arranged at the back of the grid in the order in which the offences were committed." Apparently, it's to make things less confusing for the fans. https://www.fia.com/news/fia-announc...il-decisions-8 |

It seemz it means if two drivers are on the back of the grid, this with less grid place penalties + starting position without them would race before the other.

I have images in my head of Horner wielding a lump hammer at the side of the Renault lump.

It's not the best solution, but it will be better than what we got at the moment
