I think it perfectly reflects the current state of Sportscar racing.
The light tracks position relative to the edge of the numbers indicating that the circuit limits are a joke. The car at the front is indicative of how absolutely boring the current mix of entrants is. The two in the background show two very different cars side by side, but symbolises the ultimate aim of BoP and success ballast. Anything else Chiana? As for the font what a total joke. They could have used comic sans for heaven sake. |

Sorry, it was at worst a poor joke
But, you have to admit, I covered pretty much all of it. I'll ease off, perhaps you should too. I'll stay objective though. We'll move on... |

I like the new poster.
I think that it looks a bit like the 1972 poster i have on my livingroom wall http://www.grandprixposters.com/orig...acePoster.html Might talk the misses into having 2 blue posters on the wall. Kenn |

Anyone have a quick link to a website that has cumulative pit times for cars? Say for example I wanted to compare how long the 66 winner was in the pits over the course of the race to how long the modern winners spend in the pits?

If there is, I've never seen it - not from that far back - although that doesn't mean that the stats aren't out there somewhere.

Here's some planning ahead
In 2021 I'll be visiting the Isle of Man TT which ends friday 11th of June 2021. As the 24 Hours are normally held on the 24th weekend of the year I'm crossing my fingers that raceweekend will be 19+20 June, in which case I'll be doing Isle (24 Hours) of (Le) Man(s) in one stretch . But I fear it will be 12+13 June, in which case I'll be skipping the 24 Hours What will be your guesses for the dates of the 24 Hours race in 2021? |

The problem is usually getting off the island after the tt as flights and ferries are probably booked well in advance, pretty sure the 24 hour will be the week after the final weekend of the tt so if you want to do the tt prehaps best to go early watch a few days of practice and the first 4 days of racing then get off the island before the final few days while you can.

Time stationery in the pits would not be the full story as LMP2 in 2017 were coming in every 35 mins or so and the No2 Porsche (that was closing rapidly from behind after the lengthy repair stop) was stopping every 50 mins or so (more on par with GTEs). 600-700m in pit lane at 60kph(?) is also a killer. winning Porsche No 2top 29 stops (albeit incl 1 very long one) to Jackie Chan No 38 38 stops. After 12 hours the then leading LMP1 hybrid had done 14 stops compared to 19 of top LMP2 cars. The inequality of pit stops seems to be a less in last 2 years. Also fuel regs and what can be done simultaneously in pit stop not always the same. Believe 1960s large capacity cars also allowed large fuel tanks and went longer between stops, plus pit lanes not invented then. |

What a wonderful display of cars at that exhibition! Great to see a Gordon Keeble included in the display, as well as an Austin A55/A60 pick up. That definitely brings back memories of my first employment .....
