That's terrible news, my condolences. I read your blog post as well but will revisit in his memory. It's been a very tough time for you and your family. If there is anything I can do to help from where I am, please let me know.

No but the disasters for the local le mans business community continue, Large amounts of them are reliant on the events at the circuit and it is beginning to look like nothing is going to happen there this year

It seems most of the Le Mans classic competitors are content, after all historics can be raced anytime and it’s very sensible of the organisers that they can transfer their entry to next year. No complaints there

However as you say local businesses that use the various races to make profit may be left out in the cold

I had read in some local newspaper that only the 24h business is equal to the business of a factory that would employ 850 people all along a year.

That's a very graphic way of explaining the predicament. The race having the same economic impact as a company employing 850 people year round.
Depends on what that hypothetical company produces, mind. Some companies that size are barely profitable.

Christopher I missed some details. You are right. I found an old 2012 newspaper article from "La tribune" that was explaining the 24 hours windfall on La Sarthr was about 60 millions €.
Very important for the local economy.
