Have to say really enjoying the Sky combo of PDR, AD, JB and JH - great line up and not missing MB at all...

It could be worse. TalkSport could do the commentary and punditry.
Test match has been on TalkSport not TMS. it makes me hate cricket. |

The best thing about the coverage this week is the absence of Kravitz.
Shows he's not needed and adds nothing to the coverage. Yes the talksport coverage of the test series is unlistenable, but that would not make me hate a sport I've loved all my life. I just choose not to listen to their coverage. |

A bit of a blast from the past but Louise Goodman is working for the Australian Grand Prix Corporation doing trackside commentary for the Australian Grand Prix.

I know that they're only minor points in some respects but the squeaky shrieker (Croft) with all his try-hard stuff, does muck it up consistently - today in Melbourne he was waxing on about the wind and Melbourne being on the shores of the Tasman Sea - it's not, Tasman Sea is a good 400 plus km away; then he was waxing on about the trophies being a representation of Sir Jack Brabham's steering wheel and Sir Jack being a double World Champion - nope, three times Crofty.

I know it's a minor point but I'm getting a bit tired of the repetitive phrases creeping into the C4 coverage. With DC's "put the viewers inside the cockpit" every time he talks to a driver, and AJ's "throwing one down the inside" every time someone tries an overtake...
Maybe if the race had been more exciting I'd have been more distracted and wouldn't have noticed. |

Can anybody remember how long sky have on their current UK TV contract? It will be interesting to see what happens when new contacts for the UK come up as to what direction Liberty wants to go in the UK.

£1.18 billion for a six-year contract running 2019-2024 is the most recent deal AFAIK.

I think that the on-camera crew are doing a pretty good job in Imola. Seems to me that Ms Pinkham is a lot more passionate about the sport than Mr Lazenby in the same role and Ms Schiff is good (despite the mistake of wearing bright orange, almost yellow and then going trackside). Mr Davidson and Mr di Resta have been really good and picking up little things really quickly.
Of course, the squeaky shrieker continues to get things wrong and over-react but that's just the way that Crofty is wired. |

Pinkham is a bit too 'Monaco' for my tastes and jesus why can't Rachel Brooks just ask a driver a simple one sentence question and then shut up?!? |

A small point but whilst watching my recordings of the C4 qualifying & highlights programmes as an old-school F1 fan I was amused to see (as I fast-forwarded through them) adverts for Tyrrell's crisps. I'm sure Uncle Ken would have smiled too!

Certainly are doing better than Tyrrell in their current guise (Mercedes)!

Who was doing the driver interviews after the race? They seemed rather frantic and hand waving.

Yes, despite not being a household name in F1, he's probably known well enough by the Tifosi due to him being a test driver with them. I thought he did a solid job with the interview too

New track, first time in Miami, land of positivity and what does Kravitz drone on about ? Old spec Mercedes front wings…… Meanwhile the crowd were going predictably wild…..
