Is the crowd “reaction” being dubbed in? Or have Liberty just mic’ed up the stands this year?

It's gone through a few changes over the years, starting out 'Best Outside Broadcast' then 'Best News or Outside Broadcast Coverage'. It has been stand-alone as Sport since 2016.
In terms of F1, the following years have seen a win: 2007 - F1: Hungarian Grand Prix [Jenson Button's First Win] - ITV 2008 - ITV F1: Canadian Grand Prix Live - ITV 2009 - ITV1 F1: Brazilian Grand Prix 2008 - ITV 2011 - Formula 1: The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix - BBC Two |

There is no way the crowd cheering during the Perez dive on Sainz was real, the crowd watching didn’t flicker. It’s all getting a bit contrived

The rest of the weekend's broadcast was better. I like Danica joining in she is enthusiastic and fairly eloquent. Button was good as usual. The tv race direction missed quite a few things though? Wonder what happened there. |

Second this - I thought that Danica added something to the broadcast, to the point that I thought having suitable local guest presenters at some or all races could be a pretty good idea. She provided a "translation" between F1 and the US that was really good IMHO.

I was impressed with her input.... the broadcast was better for it. Which surprises me because I have never been a fan of hers. My initial thought on seeing her there was OMG NO Why etc. I quickly changed my mind.

I found the crowd sounds barely noticeable and mostly inoffensive

Nice to see Channel 4 mentioning Tony Brooks. He may not have been the household name Stirling was, but he deserves to be remembered

Indeed, the last time a GP was held in Florida,Tony was third.
Question, who did the post race pre podium interviews? |

Perhaps I should, as long as Willy doesn't do any more post-race interviews.....

What he did right was ask the right questions. He majored on fitness and pressure. What he did wrong, was call everyone "babe".

I thought this as well, I feel the camera locations weren’t that great, with little or no overlap for multiple angles. There were few wide angle shots, how much of this was due to the surrounds of the corporate stuff, or just the circuit design. I also felt use of the helicopter was restricted, especially given aircraft towing banners circling the area.

felt like the overhead shots of the day club and faux marina revealed them to be sparsely attended which enhanced the depressing quality of them imo and seeing F1 cars driver under an overpass/freeway was a terrible angle that they went to all too frequently.
about the nicest thing i can say is hopefully they learn for next year. couple of hilarious close up shots in the grandstand of one 'fan' madly cheering were oddly enjoyable though! from the tired Miami Vice tropes to the football helmets on the podium...the branding/style choices they made were in the end all pretty boring. to each their own of course. |
