The safety car rules are fairly consistent.
1) If there is an urgent need to grab the field, they just come out in front of any car and get the train under control Once the train has formed, they let cars pass ---- until they have the leader or the next car in the queue behind where the leader was when the SC boards came out. This is quite difficult to do as there maybe the leader and the next 5 cars in road in order that all pit, meaning the 6th car on the road behind the leader when the safety car came out becomes the leader behind the SC, and will not get waved by, even in the new actual race leader was behind them. 2) if they deem it safe to wait for the leader, they wait, and grab the leader, or the next car on the road behind the leader - regardless of their actual race position. It has been like this in Aus for years. |

Of interest, the replacement leader of that group did something similar, and it was much rumoured something similar went on with the owner of a former V8Supercar REC & team too... |

BATHURST 12H TO OPEN MCPHILLAMY PARK CAMPING
Good potential here for the growth of the event, but for others this will lead to reduced access around the top of the mountain as more people set up weekend long campsites in prime spots |
