On a completetly different topic, I've seen a picture of Warren Scott stood by his 'new' VW. Does anyone know if this is the 3rd Passat or is it a promo shot of him stood by either Menu's or Smith's car with Scotts no on it?
I know they said he would be switching to a Passat 'later in the season' but they didn't say when. Does anyone know how the build is going on this? Last edited by Steel Wheels; 26 Mar 2014 at 10:55. Reason: Spelling, really should use spell check, D'oh! |

something in the drivers group photo, Rob Austin got a 1st row seat which means he is now an important part of the paddock cos front row is reserved for the most important drivers

Yes, this was a major news item at the media day and I'm surprised Autosport etc... didn't pick up on it. Rob Austin was officially announced as 'an important driver' and would be allowed to take a front row position for all group photos that took place on that day. An incredible and much sought after accolade I'm sure you'll agree.

Rob Holland in 2nd row despite being just a backmarker so far in his few BTCC outings while Dan Welsh a BTCC veteran just last row I guess it's because Rob Holland has a higher media profile being an american driver and his team have some reputation in GT Racing . Personally I would have put Dan Welsh in 2nd row and Clark in 3rd one also surprised how tall Olie Jackson is , wonder how he compares to Matt Neal |

The Wookie is a big lad. But not as big as he used to be width wise, he's lost a lot of weight over the winter.

If it's the same Warren Scott photo as I have just seen it is one from last season. He has old overalls on and Frank Wrathall's name is above the neighbouring garage.

Regarding the front row of the group photo, it's not ordered by some randomly chosen "importance", it's actually simple and it's the same order they did the driver interview groups in the media session.
1st group - the champions, middle of front row 2nd group - race winners, rest of front row The rest of the drivers were also grouped for the interviews and I would imagine they used the same groups for the rest of the drivers in the photo. |

Of course when the photo's were taken Mat Jackson hadn't been confirmed, otherwise he would have been on the front row.

Sorry, didn't make it clear - race winners from last year.
edit - scratch that, Smith won at the end of 2012. Must be chronological then, plus keeping the numbers in each row even. |

It's about how tall they are. The bigger drivers are at the back.

Sounds like discussions about a Stalin-era party photo....

i think you need to go to the BTCC own web site for the group photo.

It's got nothing to do with if they are champions or race winners.
Allegedly they are given seats depending on how many cans of Fosters they buy Alan Gow.. |

Rubbish ! Nothing could be further from the truth. They're given cans of Fosters based on the seats they buy Alan Gow... now where's my can of Fosters gone, I know I left it around here somewhere.

Rob Gravett has been tweeting about how good Brands is gonna be, along with a picture of his crash helmet! Cryptic clue or just getting in the spirit of things?
First guest car anyone? |
