Well, maybe it's a joke, but russian team is going to participate in European events with a russian car. VAZ 21106.It's something like Audi 80. But it won't be a works team, because VAZ has many problems even without racing. There's no 2-litre engine. So the team asked Chevrolet for it and some mechanic elements.I don't know, what they hope for. They had a big gap even when they use BMW.I think,it's a joke.

Me too in fact.It was announced by the official WTCC web site last year, that VAZ works team would race the whole season, but,as always in new Russia, something went wrong. They had plenty of plans:rally super2000,wtcc,Dakar..And it was always only talk or rumour, not work. This time,I think,it goes the same way.

The good thing was the nice atmosphere. I was able to walk trough the paddock, and watch the races from the grandstand and the roof of the pits, without buying all kinds of ticket-upgrades or vip-passes, witch can make you feel a litlebit unwelcome. Also there was no problem with the traffic, witch can be different in both Zandvoort and Spa. |

Some people belive, there're only 'tram races' in Zandvoort. Why?Is it too dangerous to overtake there?

I've seen Porsche Carrera Cup race this year. It was much better than DTM-race. It depends on car, driver, series

I think,it's a good mix of twisted corners and high speeds.Especially that sector after the third corner. When the chain of cars is rushing along that 'straight' it's exciting. And there're hills everywhere,so pilots can't see where to drive.Maybe, the track isn't attractive for spectaculars every time, but for drivers - it is.

Racing for Belgium will enter WTCC next season. The Belgian team will also enter WTCC support series SEAT Leon EuroCup. In 2005 and 2006 they won the Spanish SEAT Leon Cupercopa championship with Oscar Nogues.

I wonder if next year we will see a privateer Chevy Lacetti team, now that RML proved that this car is a winning one,, its time to see a larger number in WTCC races, after all, many Lacetties are doing nationl TC, in ADAC ProCar (Maurer), DTC and STCC !

LGT Engineering intended to enter a pair of IS220ds towards the end of this season but it hasn't happened yet.

Strangely how they could enter that car since Lexus has not homologated the model.

According www.touringcartimes.com Nykjær is heading to WTCC next season.
This move would not surprise me. Because of his GR Asia adventure in ETCC and possible Macau I assume he's planning to enter WTCC with GR Asia. Coronel and Nykjær would be a nice line up. Team Essex and possible Nykjær leaving DTC...not good news for the Danish championship. |
