Pretty good. Some pretty fast turns there. Reminds me a bit of Silverstone.

Very curious to see what you guys think of this one. It's a little different for me, but it's still got some mac-traits (ie. the first two turns and lots of corners). Here it is - Refuge Cove.

Refuge Cove runs clockwise and has 3 passing spots at turns 1, the turn 10 hairpin and the turn 12 esses.

Highlights for me include the twisty run through turns 4 and 5, turn 9, the flat-out double apex turn 11 right, and the final turn 15.

By the length of the pit lane, I assume is not a very long track. It looks fast and furious. I especially like the kink before the chicane.

Okay, this is a possible replacement for CART's current downtown Denver race, which I think is an absolutely awful venue.

This track is based on the city streets of Golden, Colorado, a suburb of Denver. It's about 6 miles long, but could certainly be cut down to a more realistic length. Very twisty in the west half, super fast in the east.

Not going to do anything fancy with the graphics on this one.

This sort of just popped into my head. Inspired by LeMans and Laguna Seca, though the real inspiration comes from a circuit I've never been able to identify. If anyone's seen the Speed Channel program "Porsche: Victory by design" narrated by Alan DeCadney (who arguably has the world's best job), there's a very short piece of film where Mark Donohue is driving the Porsche 917-30 at blinding speed along a road course, _just_ before they show the Talladega footage. He comes down a straight, through some fast esses without missing a beat, then a short straight, and into a banked right-hander which appears out of nowhere. I'd love to know where that stretch of pavement is.

Anyways, on to _my_ unnamed tribute to that piece of asphalt. Turns one and two are a super-fast pair of esses which really test the driver's courage. The road starts to climb just before the apex of turn two, on a gentle grade.

Turn 3 is another fast one, a right-handle taken as fast as you dare, with the road still climbing.

Turn 4 is a sharp right, and is gently banked so that the road doesn't fall away as you reach the top of a plateau. You can pass here if you've gotten through the esses better than the guy in front.

The track levels out on the plateau, leading into a long, fast straight with a kink, turn 5, in the middle, taken flat out.

Turn 6 takes you downhill fast... On approach, you have to look for a road sign marking the apex, pointing down and to the right. That's where you're going. You turn into the unseen corner after braking hard for the hairpin, and you plunge into a the downhill corner. But rather than understeer, you're caught by the 45-degree banking, forced down in your seat by the G forces. The change in elevation is only comparable to the Corkscrew at Laguna Seca.

This corner leads straight into turn 7, which is banked at 30 degrees, and is indeed reminiscent of the Rainey Curve at Laguna. I love that sequence.

A short straight flings you to the demanding, flat-out turn 8, with it's 10-degree banking. You've got to keep your foot planted all the way through, and trust that the car will hold the road, or you'll lose massive amounts of ground.

You exit onto a straight, then go through the turn 9 kink, and back onto the pit straight.

This track won't make for the best racing, but the spectacle will be wonderful as man and machine are pushed to the breaking point by the high speeds and intense G-forces.

Track length is around 2.5 miles, by far my shortest course. It runs clockwise, BTW.

Lee, the Colorado street track looks great. How would that effect local housing? Could it face problems from locals?

The 2nd one looks nice and fast with a top passing chance at the end of the back straight. Turns 1, 2 & 3, as well as the last turn would be good fun. The track map looks A LOT like Pukekohe Raceway in NZ, where the V8Supercars race.

Dunno wot to call it

Probably around 5 overtaking places at turns: 3,5,8,12 and 13. Maybe at turn 7 but you would have to be super brave because of the extreme banking...

What do you think Lee?

Yipes! That's quite a course, very fast and flowing. I think I'd rather like to race there.

Mac, the street track's west half encloses a handfull of businesses, and a couple houses. It brushes up against a neighborhood in the upper-left corner. Shouldn't be problems there.

The east half, though, completely encloses a lot of commercial and residential space, although the streets of the course don't brush right up against neighborhoods.

The only solution to that I can see is something like this, but it'd make that straight quite narrow.

I guess this, with the blue portions, would be the most _realistic_ layout, but it takes away all the long straights, and the best passing opportunities. Too twisty and boring.

Y'know, I sat down to create a track tonight... But I had Heartland Park on my mind. It's a track located near Topeka Kansas that I expect most of you have never even heard of. It's currently suffering due to really bad management, but it's _such_ a great driver's course. Just technical enough to be an interesting challenge, it's a circuit that really lets you fight the other drivers, instead of the track itself. I've driven it lots of time in Papyrus's Indycar Racing 2, and it's a ton of fun. Very good elevation change throughout the track, it's at it's highest in the upper-left corner.

So anyways, I sat down to make a track, and I realized pretty fast I wasn't going to be able to take inspiration from this track, and still improve on it! So I figured I'd just post the track map here and share it with you guys.

2.1 miles, counter-clockwise in this configuration.

This is a track that I did that is currently posted on E-Tracks.com. It is self explanitory and fiarley simple in nature. No real tight bits, and plently of fast sweepers!

Robinson Grove has 2 passing spots at the turn 1 chicane and the turn 8 hairpin.

Highlights include turn 3 and the run from the hairpin to the final turn.
