Although it is maybe different for Ferrari and McLaren compared to Audi and Acura. |

well audi and HPD don't have a f1-tier know how for sure, but yes mclaren isn't swimming in gold lately... it's a so sad a glorious firm like mclaren needs crumbs coming from bahrain to surive and carry on... anyway what would be the effort of mclaren in a lmdh? chassis and aero is made by the chassis supplier, ERS is spec, gearbox is from xtrac or hewland, engine will likely be made and tuned by ricardo... just some vanity bodywork panel? |

You'll always be at a disadvantage from those who have been in sportscars long enough. Although McLaren have got enough to survive, they haven't got a bottomless pit of cash. At least they have got a better F1 season by the looks of it
They could do alright in LMDH, if they had the cash. Although they would probably not be able to do it all in house and need others to supply to other bits. |

Toyota are running a hydrogen fuelled ICE in a 24 hour race in Japan. I don't know if that will be an option in ACO racing or if they will have to run fuel cells. http://www.dailysportscar.com/2021/0...n-at-fuji.html |

"Zurlinden also explained why the Porsche LMDh is due to roll out slightly sooner than its Audi counterpart, which is poised for a first-quarter 2022 track debut. “It’s parts availability, and we started the project much earlier,” he told Sportscar365. “We were already discussing concept phases in January last year at Daytona, when the regulations were published.”" |

If they had hotswappable batteries it would be possible, however the industry doesnt appear to want to embrace "swappable" batteries, which is ironic considering one of the barriers people have to switching to an electric car is the long charge times.

Yeah, I was guessing more LMDh teams with his knowledge in the current chassis. Plus as joeb mentioned I think everyone but Ferrari has announced drivers

Lots of opportunities coming. Everyone one of these 2023 teams need three drivers for each car. I’ve only just twigged that. Good times to be a pro sportscar driver

Works Penske Porsches on both sides of the Atlantic! Plus customer cars available from '23.
Oh baby! http://www.dailysportscar.com/2021/0...-and-imsa.html Always assumed this would happen, albeit not necessarily in a full works relationship. But amazing to see it confirmed. |

Penske+Porsche for Dayona, Sebring and Le Mans, so good news ! I hope that BoP discussions will not interfere with the huge battle we can expect.

Looks like Porsche's factory drivers are going to be busy! I wonder if they will use 2 different crews, or try and mix and match as the schedule allows. Also wonder if both crews will run Le Mans?

By 2023 they may not have any GTs and need 4 Porsche LMDhs to fill the field. Plus however many private cars they can build/sell.
