Some Seppo (American) V8's have FWD don't they? We all know how well American cars handle though, eh?

That's another thing for all those "purists" who say ST is no good because the engines are the same, well despite there not being a V8 Camry on the market, when was the last time you saw a Camry with RWD? Or does that not matter either?

Don't you mean "purists" with an axe to grind?

Yes, indeed. I was trying to imply that with the inverted commas...

Yip the Taurus SHO had one that was a nice engine but it struggled to get the power down.

With the first fround of the BNT V8ST at HD just a month away might be a good time to sort out an Entry List.
Things seem to have been a little quiet on that front since Ruapuna in November, but am sure a few announcments must be due, either Driver/Sponsor etc

I guess these drivers are locked into there usual mounts

John McIntyre
Angus Fogg
Tim Edgell
Scott McLaughlin
Greg Murphy
Andy Booth
Andre Heimgartner
Paul Manuell
3x International Motorsport cars, guess with Same line Up, Reid, Pederson and M
Cunningham. Kayne Scott or maybe Simon Evans
Eddie Bell
Craig Baird
Richard Moore
Tasman Motorsport-Daniel Gaunt or somebody new
Simon McLenan
Plus the 21st Car, cant rember the guys name, but will he drive or slot in an Ace instead

And I guess we are due 3 More New Cars during the Year

What is unclear is who is in McIntyres 2nd car, the 2nd Supercheap Car and Corkerys car ( Didnt seem to be a happy camper after last year)

And with talk that SVG may front as well, what seat he could turn up in

The other thing is of course, this year its 3 Sprint rounds with 4 Enduros so later in the year its, going to be interesting to see who lines up and after last years 3 Races we saw plenty of changes round to round

Not much in the way of new news coming from the likes of Maxi today, a very
quite man indeed, in regards to the new NZV8 season.

Wow when push came to shove and history was finally written, the NZV8's
met their demise. The only thing left for Maxi and his one or two poor loosers,
is to try and poor cold water on the new ST's. By trying to down grade these
cars, because they use the same power plant in both Ford and Holden.
It's funny now this is all but settled and worked out and people are still concerned about making sure they get a knife in someone's back and they are more concerned with settling scores, rather than with what happens on the track.

It all worked out the way it was supposed to. V8 ST got themselves split from the old crowd of cronies and the old gets folded into what is essentially a developmental series. I can't think of a better solution.

Yes Shane comes out of retirement and Promax goes into retirement. Bit of a result that.

Fantastic news for BNTV8ST, and welcome to V8ST Shane. I reckon he may just pull a few punters through the Gates at all the Rounds.

Wonder who he is thinking about as a Co-Driver for the Enduros.

This is great news, but i managed to miss the news article by about 5 goddam minutes! Typical.

Does anyone have a link to the interview?

Personally i have known about this for some time, and hinted at this about a month or so ago. I've been biting my tongue ever since, so am glad now that its all out and official.

My favourite driver in my favourite series....can't get better than that

And i am sure having SVG in the series will certainly draw larger crowds.

Over the moon. Well done V8ST, your certainly cementing the series as a world class touring car category.

Hopefully this will lead to a few more of the bigger name supercar drivers to head over for the 4 enduros (not that its that big a deal to have supercar drivers in the series - just a field of top quality drivers from around the globe.

when did i say there would be huge fields this season? from the start i've said chev powered commodores vs chev powered falcons.. don't interest me.. they have no soul. the fact that people like you get all upset and twist what i say.. is pretty damn amusing. if Michael Schumacher, Cole Trickle, Batman or Hilary Barry joins the series.. it still wouldn't change a thing chev powered commodores vs chev powered falcons.. don't interest me.. they have no soul.

btw.. there was no phone coverage or net where i was today no need to get upset if you don't always see me online. i'll be back

Hi Carl,

The last time I was in a rally car was with Robbie Francevic, and we barrel-rolled out of the Rotorua rally in his his wife's RX3. From memory Rossie was not amused.

So thank you, but no thank you, I am still plucking up the courage to go for a drive with one our Supertourers Stars, maybe I might get the chance to do a hot lap with Shane Van Gisburgen, now that would be a real thrill!

Mark.

I was not posting about the old situation here regarding NZ motorsport. I just get sick

and tired of reading the bull**** all the time regarding the power plants in the currant ST's,
which keeps appearing from the same couple of posters, on a regular basis.

I am very interested in what happens on the track, in fact motorsport takes most of my

spare time and a little more.

I have never and would never stab anyone in the back, I am an up front guy. I presume

at present, you are thinking that you have supplied us all with your superior words of

wisdom. But in fact all you have done is become as guilty as the people you are talking

about.

The best action you could have taken was to ignore my post and let it die there, but no

you couldn't do that could you, which proves a point doesn't it.

I notice you have over 6000 posts to your name, haven't learnt much have you.

100% agree with all that, it's been on the cards for sometime so great to be confirmed tonight. How long do you reckon it will take for him to win a race?
