From the article, sounds like NASCAR/IMSA initiated the conflict with their lawsuit, and WC Vision's is basically a counter-suit.

We've seen this movie before, seems like. Twice actually.
NASCAR seems to want nothing less than absolute control.

I thought they were suing each other for poaching an employee

Julie Bentley from IMSA to PWC, and Geoff Carter from PWC to IMSA. Neither group was happy their employee was approached by the other series.

DSC article states.
Quote:
DSC understands that IMSA, or representatives thereof, have issued legal filings pertaining to the appointment of ex IMSA employee Julie Bentley as WC Vision’s new Director of Partnership Relations in November 2014.
More recently a similar level of legal correspondence has been instigated by World Vision pertaining to ex World Challenge Competition and Race Director Geoff Carter, directed towards IMSA after their hiring last month of Carter as the new Series Manager of the Tudor United Sportscar Championship.
Clearly, (and predictably) NASCAR/IMSA, fired the first shot.
"More recently," World Challenge Vision responded with its own suit.

I think that this thirst for power, is what has driven pretty much all of NASCARs involvement in sports car racing over the years.

Perhaps, since the SCCA sanctions the World Challenge Vision events, they should respond to these actions by pulling corner worker support of the IMSA events.

They do that and they ARE done with any manufacturer support of any series for all of time. You screw with driver safety at tracks for personal/series gain and I think you should be banned from ANY involvement in racing full time.

And if WC Vision did NOT include any restrictions about re-emplyment but IMSA did then they are screwed. Personally could not care any less about this as it happens in other businesses on an almost daily basis and would be a non-story in any other business.

Probably the result, you pay their lawyers' fees and they pay yours. Would be nice to see half the court bill sent to each for wasting the time.

Obviously, that suggestion was not entirely serious. It's just massively frustrating, as a sports car fan in America, that any time you begin to like a racing series, NASCAR does whatever it can to harass it and hamper its growth.

The abolishing of the IMSA safety team comes to mind.

I must have missed where the personal gain or to screw the other party was in that? And have heard a whole lot of NOTHING regarding that after the initial hue and cry that the world was going to end.

It was brought up nearly every race when someone crashed or broke and the safety team looked like the Three Stooges out there.

Saving IMSA a few dollars, at the expense of optimized safety.

Also, My suggestion, (again, not meant to be taken seriously.)
Was not intended to "screw with driver safety".
The idea was to make holding a racing event impossible.

It's been awhile, so here's the updated GT/GT-A entry list tracker http://nasportscar.com/entry-list-so...tgt-a-class-2/

You'll notice EFFORT's lineup is also confirmed in there as well

Any idea where this leaves Michael Mills? He did great last year so I'm expecting him to return.

He's currently working on a ride, but it will most likely not be in PWC. It's crazy to think a class champion will be without a ride.

Apparently no Andretti Nissans, but maybe a chance for AIM Autosport to run the GTRs instead
