There appear to be talks going on in the background so we might see the whole lot dropped. The other point is that it will be 2023 before it will be practical to do what RP have done as next year teams have to use the current chassis with limited mods and the following year everyone will be starting from scratch with new designs. |

Both Ferrari and RP have now dropped their appeals over the brake ducts so we can consign this to history. Mind you Ferrari have bigger things to worry about.

Perez to leave RP at the end of 2020, looks like Vettel will be announced soon, maybe at Mugello?

Sad to see Perez leave as he has been very consistent over the years. It will be interesting to see where he goes and how he gets on next year.
It looks like Vettel is going to be his replacement. While he is high profile I wonder which version of Vettel we will see next year. He will also be the prime focus of the team for results and leadership with a team mate who is unlikely to offer a serious challenge to him. |

Perez has the right to feel more than a little miffed about this. His actions essentially saved the team. Im wondering if his $ became less required due to increased championship position as well budget cap?
I wouldn't be surprised to see Perez take his $ to Haas |

Vettel has accidentally gotten himself a better seat.
We call this the Reverse Fernando. |

Would've been a surprise move though. Hope Vettel will thrive again at Aston Martin. |

Some would say it's an underwhelming decision. PĂ©rez is probably better than Vettel this year. Nevertheless, maybe Seb can now iron out the mistakes and still show a turn of pace.

Sadly for me the support I had for Racing Point has, with this news, evaporated. So much for the loyalty they promised Checo in return for his actions which in truth allowed Racing Point to even exist. And to replace him with someone of dubious qualities.... cant wait for "Sebastian, Lance is faster than you, do you understand?" Best wishes to Perez with his Mexican Millions in whatever / wherever his next chapter may be. |

I can't see this doing Aston/RP any good but the brains in that team must count for something. In an overwhelmingly dominant car, under the pre hybrid rules Vettel was exceptional. Webber occasionally had the beating of him, Seb made the odd hot headed mistake and could be flustered. Since then Ricciardo made him look normal, some felt Seb underperformed to use his "get out clause". At Ferrari he's seen off Domenicali and Arrivabene who provided him with a car that led the Championship at times and looked capable of winning it. He made aggressive and silly mistakes throwing away what could've been his last chances of a WDC. Now Leclerc has him beaten again and RP are chucking Checo and his $$$ for him. I really don't get it.

Not sure I agree with the swap, but at least it'll be interesting to see what Vettel can do behind the wheel of the Raci... err... Aston Martin.
As for Perez, I hope he ends up at Haas. |
