Le Mans is the only race each year where I do the full 24hrs.... with full TV coverage and the chat it's entertaining enough to pull through.
But yeah, Monday morning after is always a bit weird. I usually fall into the bed straight after the race and wake up around 4 or 5 in the morning and the first thing I realize is that it's 355 days to wait until the next one. |

I'll be up the whole time with you guys for company, I always tell myself if I can't stay up all night one day a year then there is something wrong with me... Coffee and energy drinks and keep the alcohol to a minimum until the last few hours - I always finish the race with bloody marys... Rest up tonight and be ready for a great show tomorrow! ***Looking forward to thinking about something other than this dam fire for once this week*** Last edited by Livininthinair; 15 Jun 2012 at 20:43. |

I don't know what it's been with me, but I've seen the LM24 live on Speed since 2006, and each year recently it's gotten harder and harder for me to stay awake the whole deal--I even wonder how I made it though last year's race, in spite of the excitement. But I agree--I nod off after post-race and wake up a few hours later, only to wonder when I'll get back to a normal sleep schedule. And I hope that you mean 363 days (or 364 depending on the year)--we have enough trouble with leap year happening because our days aren't exactly 24 hours (23 hr 56 min or so), but then again, the LM23:56 doesn't sound good for marketing, now doesn't it |

Couldn't agree more - for one day of the year - I don't want to miss anything. As i'm not back at work until 26th June (!) and I fortunately don't have to drive after the race (thank you James!), I can catch up on sleep anytime... I can't see Le Mans again for another year. It's a total no-brainer.....

My attempt to stay up for the whole 24 took a hit last night by staying a bit late. Both efforts will be worth it but I am sure to nap at some point.

I'll be tired, no doubt - 2 am to bed both Wednesday and Thursday night and I doubt I'll be in bed before 1 am tonight, but I don't plan on getting up before 9 tomorrow.....

Im going to try and stay up as much as possible during the race but the race starts here at 11pm so who knows how long into the night I'll last. Doesnt help that Ive stocked the fridge with beverages containing hops and not caffeine |

I gotta wake up before 3:00 AM to catch the start of the race, so I'll try to go to sleep by 9:00 PM, if not 8:00 PM. I went to sleep around 11:30 last year and I crashed with about 4 hours to go in the race, so I hope I can last this year

I'm looking forward to this!
Kind of crazy, but Sam Posey (now sometimes SPEED commentator and voice-over personality) was on something I just happened to catch tonight (relating to his Parkinson's Disease). Thank goodness he still looks to be doing pretty darn well. I hope Aston does well in GT, and rooting for any of the non-Audis in the LMP ranks. Part of me wishes the Toyotas had stayed with the red, rather than the blue, as it made them look that much more different from the Peugeots. Oh well. I'll have to see if a friend of mine pops up on camera during the coverage; he's staying with some Brits at a campsite by Maison Blanche. |
