But Bruno Senna has said the team will make all the pre-season tests, according to Will Buxton, so it can't be that serious a situation

How can probably one of the most despised persons in motorsport at the moment, owing hundreds of millions around the world be interested in buying into Campos!!

If there was a fit and proper person test, he would presumably fail it with flying colours.

Here is the Premier League's one, page 102 of their rulebook

Campos team to be sold before season starts?
http://formula-one.speedtv.com/artic...-before-debut/ Not sure about the quality of the source. |

"It is not a secret that we do not have the budget. And time is scarce," a source confirmed.
hmmm....that doesn't sound too good does it! But once again, it's from a "source". |

So Campos need investors - understandable.
But bloody hell, Tex? He'll just promise the world & deliver nothing at all - be a very short time in the sun if they bring him in you would think. The man must have VERY thick skin and no sense of decency on any level to even be talking about it. |

You do not underestimate Teixeira. He is a self made man and has been involved in trading, logistics, transport and diamond exploration activities throughout Africa for over 25 years. His fortune and resources are much bigger than what he put in A1 GP.

So, other than dangerous from an image standpoint, any link with Teixeira would be completely useless from a financial one. I'd prefer... ehhmmm... ehy mates!! Hasn't Flavio's ban been rejected? |

I understand the aussies are still in pain but the Queensland Government knew months before it pulled out of the Gold Coast SuperGP that the A1GP was in financial difficulty and was unlikely to turn up but still paid the organization $1.8m Aussies in appearance money. No injury can be complained of by a consenting party. Anyway A1GP is A1GP, and Tony Teixeira is Tony Teixeira. He has the money. He is a successful entrepreneur. He is still clean for the regular spectator. Campos needs desperately cash. If he can bank it... why not?

Tony TX wrote a long rambling letter to the Qld. Minister involved just 3 weeks before cancelling. In it he gave a lot of personal guarantees. That letter is being give as part of the reason the AUD$1.8 million was advanced for transportation cost. Tony Tx also advised he would give AUD$50,000 to charity if he didn't show.
Check the published FOI papers in the Gold Coast Bulletin on line. Juntos, either Tony TX has money and no integrity, has integrity but no money, or possibly has niether. Whichever he's not the sort of bloke I'd want the name of the team associated with. Granted the Qld connection behaved like mugs and didn't do proper due dilligence. The Minister. and possibly the Government won't survive. Last edited by Oldtony; 12 Jan 2010 at 01:25. Reason: minister comment |

Stick "Tony Teixeira blood diamonds" into Google and draw your own conclusions
Adrian has now responded. The irony about all the cynicism is that they have said they will be at the first test, whereas Red Bull won't, but there'll be no speculation about their future |

It's surprising - even though he doesn't have any racing experience, he's a Virgin man. Looks like he will be replaced with someone from within Manor who knows something about motorsport. Are Virgin having second thoughts, I wonder?
Also I see again that the team are looking for a title sponsor. This does surprise me considering it's an advertising vehicle for Virgin as it is, but then they're not actually putting that much in, or so we keep getting told |

As Joe Saward says it's a logical move in racing terms and if Lloyds Bank is to become involved any significant way that can only be good news.
I'm very sceptical about Richard Branson and Virgin at all times. The deal they had with Brawn was so one-sided as to be laughable, but the need to get the cars to Australia for the first race made it a necessity. |

Somebody told me that Virgin were unlikely to part with large sums of money in sponsorship and that the draw was in the name, looks like that may be working against Manor here

Virgins Cosworth engines are to be branded as 'Marussia'. Team to be known as 'Virgin - Marussia'. Other interesting details as well.
