The #8 stays on slicks...Toyota must have very solid info on the rain being only very brief.

Toyota is frustrating. #7 going faster but a lap behind. #8 slower but still on lead lap. Sarrazin not nearly getting what Davidson was getting.

Are they ever going to change that "interview coming up" notification sound - it's just scary.

Also, ACO, please don't EVER put onboard cameras in the Toyotas.

EverOne has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
#31 retires early in the race, #32 has several problems, including a contact

Aston is too much helped by BoP, while Porsche and Ferrari are there... It's not an equal challenge. Last year it was the same. Why don't they ban Porsche and Ferrari, to leave Aston winning every single race without any opponent?

I'm sorry, I love Aston Martin and their cars, but the GTE 'race' today has been a complete farce that was settled by men in suits months ago.

At least you would think that Aston would be smart about this, and sand bag a little, instead of basically campaigning for extra lead.

Is this the exact same track configuration that F1 uses?
If it is, than LMP1 times are really impressive.

What is so impressive about them now? The the same "~10 sec" gap that has been there for years. Depending on track, and obviously in 2011 with the new rules it grew a bit bigger for a while.

Treluyer 1:42.926, that's without hybrid help

Kimi's fastest lap from last year was 1:34.6.... So that's about 8 sec a lap, BUT Kimi didn't have to deal with much slower traffic. Also, his car is about 250 kg lighter and has 700+ hp plus KERS. I was really just commenting that LMP1s are closer, IMO, than one would expect based on specs on paper.

For some reason, IRC isn't working (it says Phishy is terminated).

In the meantime, Treluyer runs off and wipes out a short stop

~ 12,000 viewers, seems pretty good (certainly better than ELMS)

It's too bad there's not really any battle for 1st in any of the classes right now

Both McNish and Treluyer demonstrated their off-roading skills.

But relatively they aren't much closer than before and generally I don't get this sort of comparison in the first place, because both type of cars are only as fast as the regulations allow them to be (especially F1 is now pegged back by the crappy-on-purpose Pirellis).

Not a fan of Audi but do like the "HOME OF QUATTRO" billboard on the bridge over the Hangar straight.

Man, all the good stuff must have been before I came on at the top of the hour. Barely any battles in the past half-hour
