The Toyota's tires will be destroyed by the end of this race. If Kamui holds on, that'll be phenomenal work by him.

Looks like from timing a bad lap from Duval, 9.1s

I'm guessing that there's about 13 laps to go now. Will the Toyota's tires hold on for that long?

If I get that right #8 had some more degradation (problems?) on the rear tires the whole race.

I wouldn't go so far as to say I was wrong ... but it looks as though reality is refusing to cooperate and follow my prediction. I'd say Toyota really does have a chance at winning here. Kobayashi's tires would have to not just go off, but fall off, for Duval to close that gap, given that they are both lapping at about the same pace.
Porsche could have kept the lead but opted for new rubber, and is lapping the slowest of the top three. |

I think Kobayashi will make it unless the tyres fall off a cliff. If he does, it's been a stunning drive from him and no less than he deserves, |

He doesn't need for Duval to make up as much time as he has the past couple of laps though. Three seconds or so over the past two laps, and with about 12 laps to do, Loic has time.

I guess it can't be Fuji without some end of race P2 controversy...

Surprising that cars with newer tires don't seem to have a bigger advantage. Kobayashi seems to handle the traffic very well.

A few tenths a lap ... six seconds ... 18 laps for Duval to catch Kobayashi, and there aren't 18 minutes left.

I'm starting to think so unless the #6 becomes un-driveable.

Just as I typed that, Duval took a massive chunk out of Kamui. 4.5 seconds is the lead.

Calm down everyone. Without traffic or a mistake Toyota will finally, thankfully, deservedly get a WEC victory.
