Would be great news.
What does this mean for Craft-Bamboo + SEAT? They were sort of factory team of SEAT. |

But international racing is another level Here we have in little N 30 drivers that can qualify in 1 second on every track. And for example Viktor Davidovski was three times champion and no one ever heard of him when he announced plans for TCR International. If you don't follow national series you would never hear of lot fantastic drivers. |

BTCC is the most competitive touring car championship in Europe, Shedden in one or two seasons will be a title contender for sure
I hope he will be on the pace in the Audi straight away |

Are you forgetting his pole position the first time he raced a TCR car? There are national series, and there are nationals series. |

I watch BTCC for 10 years and no doubt they are best national touring series. But would you race in BTCC where you won three titles or go to WTCR to look for a new challenge? I already said that I have no doubt that Shedden is great driver. As you said the TCR pole is proof. And why do this make you laugh? You think that guys from our Serbian championship couldn't keep up with BTCC guys? |

And how does we judge driver quality?
My favourite BTCC driver Colin Turkington was great in WTCC, but when he raced full season in STCC he only managed fifth position at the end of the season Jason Plato only manage P2 at Brands Hatch (home race) in WTCC with pointless races in Mexico and Belgium Adam Morgan races in CTCC. P2 in debut and then two times P5, P10 and P16. |

Well, in fairness, most of the drivers that raced in Btcc then won Wtcc title or races. Just to make examples: Huff, Priaulx, Menu, Rydell, Thompson, Chilton... I think that also Muller made a big step up thanks to the Btcc experience, Turkington also defeats BMW official drivers when he drove the 320 WSR car. He then raced in STCC and grab no wins, but it was the first year in a strong national championship...
But I have a great respect for all the drivers that come from national series, this year also our Colciago had a strong season, great to see also Borkovic winning wih the Alfa |

I also have great respect for every driver, but to say that some guy from other championships can't compete against BTCC drivers is nonsense. How can someone say that guys from ex-YU countries can't compete vs BTCC guys? As you said Borkovic score two wins for Alfa, Stefanovski had bad 2016 in ETCC because he never raced on any circuit before and look he fought for 2017 title. Pavlovic raced against F1 drivers and he wasn't in F1 just because he didn't have money, just like Guerrieri. |

I am certainly looking forward to how he gets on, it will be a great advert for the BTCC if he does well, which I’m sure he will. I applaud him for taking on a new challenge. We saw how well the likes of Colin, Tom C and Nash have got in WTCC, no reason why Flash can’t go well too

Success in multiple high profile series gives extra value to a career. IMO this is something Plato is missing in his career.

I would have hoped to have more confirmed teams and drivers by the end of January. What is the date when the teams have to confirm that they are competing in the WTCR?
It seems weird that a new team like Comtoyou has confirmed both drivers, while big teams who have been competing for years have not even shown interest or anything. I thought that a 26 car line up was going to be a low amount of cars, but I'm slightly starting to worry, now. |

The massive changes to the championship have come very late, and I am not surprised that announcements have been slow.
Hopefully some good news is forthcoming soon. |

Very optimistic and more based on fantasy than on rumors, but let´s say we´ve got these 13 teams next year:
Comtoyou - Audi: Dupont / Panis (confirmed) Lukoil WRT - Audi: Vernay / Shedden (very likely) DG Sport - Peugeot: tba / tba (likely) ALL-INKL.COM Münnich - tba: tba / tba (likely) BRC Racing - Hyundai: tba / tba (likely) M1RA - tba: tba / tba (possibly) JAS - tba: tba / tba (possibly) Zengo - tba: tba / tba (possibly) ROAL - tba: tba / tba (possibly) WestCoast Racing - tba: tba / tba (possibly) Sébastien Loeb Racing - Peugeot: tba / tba (possibly) Craft-Bamboo - tba: tba / tba (possibly) GE-Force - tba: tba / tba (possibly) This would make an excellent field. |

Gianni Morbidelli is struggling with found and will probably miss the WTCR 2018. He is disappointed with the way WTCR took, the budget required is way high for the TCR teams while he knows already that a lot of ex WTCC teams and drivers have their plans sorted out. by Italiaracing
Based on that I think that a lot of TCR teams will miss the 2018, probably in this first year we will see around 20 cars on the grid + some wild cards. For the others there are option of European series or TCR national series |
