Personnally id like to think if there was that many cars/teams wanting LMP1/LMP2 slots then the ACO would decrease the GT field to accomidate them..
Before i get slated by GT lovers I only say sacrifice them because there are other championships they can go and play in..FIA GT could do with a few more cars plus you got all the national championships |

Even more incentive to run a full season of ALMS or LMS for Prototype teams. And dare I say, probably an even more controversial entry list come next summer. |

Do that over here, and Chey would say goodbye, leaving GT to be another Porsche parade. The protos do not have any tech. connections to most US fans, and would be a losing proposition. Of course, on the bright side, that could give the IMSA a good reaosn to separate itself from the ACO and use US concerns to make a US series grow. Bob |

FIA GT, LMS and FFSA will be the only European series with significant numbers of GT1 cars in 2007

at donington for the lms there were only 6 gt1 cars anyway.
oreca saleen larbre aston martin luc alphand corvette menx ferrari team modena aston martin psi experience corvette i think, for gt's only gt2 had a decent entry, but p1 and p2 both had good fields. |

A team new to prototype racing will enter updated version of the Pilbeam MP93 in LMS.

Thats a nice tidy little car . Im hopeing that there is some money within the team for test and developement .
I often wonder what a WR might do with a top team (for example , DAMS) running one . |

I have also noticed that the Valencia round clashes with the FIA GT's at Silverstone.

valencia is too small in it's current layout i'd think http://ellis.v12racing.net/racingcir...n/Valencia.gif
but there is a proposal for this layout http://ellis.v12racing.net/racingcir...20proposal.gif they could certainly run on and most of the tarmac is already in place. link for all the track maps http://ellis.v12racing.net/racingcir...acingcircuits/ or google earth its cheste, spain and then to the right i think google map is down and i don't have the ram for earth right now |

It is better as a bike track I agree. But I think I read that GP2 put on a great show there. It is supposedly good for spectators, as it is set up so you can see most of the circuit from a particular vantage point. Catalunya would have been a better choice though.

Never liked Barcelona myself, Valencia appears quite cool on TV, IMO any viable alternative to the regular F1 tracks should be encouraged.
Silverstone, well, 2004 was very good, they let the side down in 2005, but with Peugeot/Audi support and an improved support package I would think Silverstone will put increased effort behind the event. It's good to see Spa and Silverstone after Le Mans, it will help the series maintain it's momentum. There could still be an extra end of season race, I wonder if that will be South America or Asia? |
