It's for sure dubbed on, or at the very least having the audio levels adjusted. There have been several times when the crowd has cheered at the wrong time - because it looked like something was about to happen, but didn't. There have also been times when something has happened at a corner with no fans - so the sound must be coming from somewhere else at the very least, or added manually.
Similarly, there has been the opposite too. Ted noted the crowd cheering during the Paul Ricard race - but we didn't hear it. Because what was happening wasn't on the TV, so the director didn't add the sound. |

So, during the Hungary telecast today I found out that a British (or English?) team called the lionesses was playing at Wembley for a World Cup, whoops Euro cup or something and that Crofty would rather be watching that, also found out that Esteban Ocon now drives a Red Bull and that a number of team-mates seemed to have swapped cars / helmets / markings. He didn't have a good race in terms of accuracy.

I'll let you all know over the coming weeks what the crowd vs tv sound is like as I'm attending the triple header

This "gem" from Croft and Kravitz is doing the rounds today. Top class professionalism on the world feed live - beyond pathetic, the pair of them.

Even by their standards, that was super cringey. No proper communication there |

Jenson Button getting all moral about Piastri moving and “ not honouring “ the commitment from Alpine on Sky F1 show. Imagine that , dumping someone who has funded their path to F1…….

I usually like Mark Webber, but he was really tripping over himself today - even when there was little happening in the race. If DC is not available, then it would be good if Channel 4 got Billy Monger in. Not sure where either of them were today?

Is it fair to write that Crofty was completely clueless today?
Misunderstanding nearly every radio message and failing to understand any of the strategies that were at play? Usually, it is one or two gaffes but today it was frankly embarrassing. |

It was odd with both he and Jenson not noticing things like SC called. Did feel like they were back watching on remote monitors without producers in their ear.

Yeah, all over the place and seemed to be even more clueless than normal (wasn't sure that was possible). Part of me felt that he may have got carried away with hope when there was a sniff of a Lewis victory and then kinda lost it when that didn't happen.

I am normally a Kravitz fan but this weekend 2 howlers
-his refusal to comment on the Alpine driver situation even when saying he would do so and being repeatedly asked.Bizarre -his adamant insistence that Sainz pit stop fiasco #1 was due to the mechanics not having enough time to get the tyres out.Ignored that 3 of the tyres were out there. |

Does this thread now exist for cathartic purposes only?

What he knows about racing could be written on a pinhead. He’s a total laughing stock.

He knows very, very little and continually falls for tall, but clever, stories spun to him by crew members who all laugh at him behind his back. I guess he probably knows, but it’s his job and I guess he wants to keep it.

Define "real name"? Name at birth, name used professionally, name used on passport, or something else? His family name at birth was Slotover, sure. But he chose to change it at some point, thus making that his "real name".
Anyway: I think almost all of us regulars on here are Teds, really. Given a mic, a notebook, a headset and unrestricted access to practically everywhere in the F1 circus, how do you think you'd be perceived? |
