Crikey, head of trackside engineering for an F1 team is a big role and he will be away from home a lot, how on earth he will continue to progress the LMP1 project in his spare time is beyond me, because he wont have any spare time working 70-80 hour weeks......am I missing something?

yes it does appear that way!.....bit of a kick in the teeth for everyone that invested funds :-(.....but fair play to the lad fro getting it that far, it was a credible effort in my eyes.......you never know it may turn up again somewhere some day.......the car he re-designed for Pescarolo using the old AMR-One chassis had reasonable pace, and looked the part, despite niggles with the steering system and engine......my point is he has a proven track record and could have delivered a competitive car against the likes of the Rebellion and CLM privateer teams.

I've always said that not being a centralised closed company is the way to get ahead in sportscar racing. That way, if your discussions develop, you will have the capacity to take advantage of an engineering and pace route to progress.
Is this what Ron Dennis is doing now? |

Ah, no.
My comment was comparing that press release to Ron-Speak. |

Another point of the operation that has me a bit concerned, with Perrin race cars per se, not actually having any production facility, and are using contractors to even assemble the car, who does the team get back to when the problems in bits and pieces arise, and I am sure they will, they always do in new cars regardless of who designed them? There is also the question of quality control when you are not actually doing anything yourself. I think this is something that perhaps has not been thought through so well. It would also seem he has had a jump up in price from not so long ago too. Let's hope it all works out for him though and it is a quality team who will run the cars. |

Audi had their tubs manufactured by Dallara for many years. Haas F1 has the car designed and build by Dallara, the Engine and transmission from Ferrari. I see it could work! It's going to be difficult yes, but it could work! |
