I still have no idea what your point is...
...what is actually wrong with all of this? You've shown what you don't like but haven't explained in any way as to why this is a problem... ...seriously, if a driver is deemed an asset by the team, economical or pace wise (or whatever mix of both) and is therefore signed (after all, a team wouldn't sign a driver who wouldn't be some sort of asset, unless they have a strong desire to dissolve into oblivion and to con whatever sponsors they have), why is that bad? You won't be alone to call them out as too inexperienced and rushing up the ladder if the step up doesn't work. If it does, then what on earth is the problem? And how do FIA-prize funds solve this unknown problem? Please do explain... |

I complain is that the top drivers don't get promoted and less successful drivers do.
I complain that FIA gives a prize to the F3 champion, but it can't be used for the F1 feeder series. |

Quote:
1. It's rare for any (successful) driver to go from Gp3 to Euro F3. Aitken the first in a long time. 2. Gp3 is a decent chunk faster than F3 3. Gp3 is a F1 support series, which always holds a lot of weight. Only in the last few years since FIA introduced the massive advantage to F3 for super points has Euro F3 suddenly taken off. Not helped by the Gp3 cars being pretty poor viewing the last 2 years. Verstappen has helped as well, proving F3 to F1 can be successful. |

You mean Hughes.
The second point was only true when they went to 400hp engines, before that GP3 cars were extremely underpowered. Even now I think they could use more power and less grip (the same could be said for other F1 feeder categories, granted). Following F1 around does give it more visibility, but also higher costs (not that F3 doesn't have that problem, but it's for different reasons); and less track time. |

If you think GP3 is a higher level than FIA F3, you really need to get out more.
CAn I suspect you have never actually seen a GP3 car in real life? As to being with a few F1 weekends carrying weight - do you realise how little track time they get, what appalling times of day they get and also just how few people watch? |

All these can change if Liberty want to change the F1 time table (and franky they should change it)

Audi Sport has chosen young Dutchman Nyck De Vries as the back-up for Mike Rockenfeller for this weekend’s DTM round in Moscow,
Having broken a fifth metatarsal afore, I'd recommend you stay the hell off it Rocky And, borrowed from an F2 thread: Anyhow, for what any of this is worth...probably off topic agin. |

Is the new car going to be much quicker than the current and will it allow for closer racing than the current car?

Probably not, I don't see any major changes to the horsepower level or aero, apart from the nosecone. The halo too, I guess (which equals more drag).

the same article mentioned, that Fortec wanted to stay in Formula 3.5 as well as they expect the series will be more important 2019 onwards after GP3 and F3 merge

Maybe, but seriously it’s just a shadow of its former self and faces the problem now that even winning brings little credibility to a drivers repuration
