The remaining Emil Frey Lambo is tumbling down the order.
It is in the pits for 6+ minutes. Is that their mandatory technical stop or is it too early for that? -- #51 pit stop under investigation |

Yeah I forgot about the mandatory 5 minute stopper. That could be crapshoot, if a safety car comes out right after they do their 5 minute stopper, that could cost them the race. Teams should not do this too early unless some other mechanical problem happens

Not sure about the 5 minute mechanical stop.
It can only be served after a certain time. I think it is too early. BMW #35 in for 14+ minutes now Drive-through for #88 confirmed -- EDIT: #35 back out after 18 minutes Last edited by gert; 31 Jul 2021 at 21:44. |

FCY, but why?
#33 Ferrari spun. Pulled out by a tractor, and that's it. And there is the stupid Safety Car again. Ridiculous! (2nd time this race) Last edited by gert; 31 Jul 2021 at 21:56. |

Race restart and we get a f***ing highlights break
What is the thinking behind that? And we're back to yellow. SRO doesn't learn, do they? |

In the meantime, we've missed a drive through from the leading Ferrari

And the #32 just behind the #63, not even on the cameras.
No Charlie, it's not even helpful for people joining in. |

KvDL just passed Bortolotti for the lead, as both were behind the Schnabl Porsche.
That was some move. Edit - And Bortolotti shoves it back past into the chicane, again as the pair caught back up to the Porsche. Glorious. Last edited by J Jay; 31 Jul 2021 at 22:26. |

What a fight between the leaders, and Mako doing his best to stay on the lead lap holding them both up

I've not paying full attention to the race in the last couple of hours - have the leading pair eliminated the "stagger" of the #37 or is it getting back on pace with them?

There was a single car off track, undamaged, but in typical SRO style that led to a FCY and SC sequence. That was just after 63 pitted. 37 pitted under FCY and regained all time lost under SC. So 63 and all others lost all advantage they had. So basically everybody is back on the same pit stop strategy. I think there's 3 laps max between 63 and 32/37 |

Thanks for that, makes sense now.
Quite close at the front, and some frantic driving from the last 2/3 drivers in danger of being lapped. |

#35 retired
moments later #34 stopped on the grass just short of pit entry - engine failure? FCY |
