That Nissan used to be quite underpowered. Maybe they are very close to the limit to be competitive on the straights.

Small correction: one of the IMSA fast intervention teams (they travel with the series, you'll see them in the Cayennes) was on the scene as well and didn't provide any guidance or info about the 'fold-out-tow-hook' [which have been common for many years now]. It looked like what ever they attached the tow cable too on the first attempt (might have been the tow hook) broke, which is why they used the wheels. It would have worked better if they used flat bed tow trucks that didn't have such steep angles on them.

The rear engine Porsches are great in the wet. Even in GTD they were fastest by a good margin.

Only 2 of the drivers in the 16 Lambo are authorized to race it during the night time hours. Seems kinda stupid. The track is pretty much lit. This isn't Le Mans, however much IMSA wants it to be. Apparently only Pumpelly was authorized until one of the other drivers got a special dispensation. Or else Pumpelly would have had to drive the car for what, 13 straight hours?

FLGTFAN has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Justin Marks, the driver granted the dispensation, raced Rolex GT in 2004-2005 with Joey Hand and others in PTG. He then left for NASCAR in 2006. I'd say he's qualified.

And, he finished 32nd under the lights in the 2015 NASCAR truck race at Daytona.

2016 Rolex 24 at Daytona
Laughing very hard at Dave Pericak commenting that he can't stop someone buying and racing a Ford GT...ok mate and I've got some beachfront property near Ayres Rock on the market

Can anyone tell me how many hours til race start? There used to be a count down timer on the IMSA site but no longer.

Sometimes we don't know which streams work where until it is on. There are a couple links ne first post of this thread that worked last season, and the broadcast team tweeted this:

Haven't looked forward this much to a Rolex 24 in a long time, A couple P2s with legit chance to win and "Mazdas" which may acutally be competitive. All new GTLM Ferraris, BMWs and Fords plus some customer cars. The GTD field is super diverse with actual GT3 cars and some cars we haven't seen before.

FoxSportGo looks like it's showing everything, even the night online-only coverage, so if you have access to that you can get the whole thing there too.
