That's the entry list for Sebring, in late February. Seems like TA2 is as big as ever, but the car counts for the collective GT side of things are slipping. When I have more time tmorrow, I want to look up "TAH", which has one car (Wally Dallenbach, IIRC?). First I've heard of TAH. |

It's "Trans Am Heritage" - for drivers and/or cars with significant meaning to the series. This way, Wally can compete with an older car and not be in the actual series championship.

There weren't many before this year, was a heavy Chevy/Ford battle. Went back and looked at 2022, only 1 most rounds and none at a couple.

Don't think so, the only Challenger in TA the last couple years looked VERY simple in comparison to the Dyson and Ernie Francis Mustangs
That's top class not TA2. But TA2 cars are basically spec with lots running the series Katech LS3 in all cars but option for Ford and Hemi, only a few chassis builders with most Howe, Howe and 5 Star are only building bodies and spec wing. And lots of TA2 Mustangs in Historics |

I'm catching up on Sebring TA-2 right now. They said something about completely overhauling the points system, including having it go very deep, almost like NASCAR. I remember in the earliest days, the points seemed to go only six or so positions deep. I needto read up to see specifics. I'm always mentally redesigning Trans-Am to what I'd like to see most, and pointswise, I usually take a middl ground. Maybe 25 pts fo the winner, with points going 15 deep. Maybe a point for thosE that lead the most laps. And that's it.
That said, TA2 on its own this year isn't bad (thus far), though I'd love to see some Dodges. I just miss the variety of the 80's. ETA: I kind of answered my own question re: points, albeit in prose: https://racer.com/2023/02/23/preview...on-at-sebring/ Quote:

Pretty good race at Sebring. I just got through it. I wonder if the new points system will be a good or a bad thing, or neither.

Could have been a good weekend, for everyone in the area it's also SVRA Historics weekend and Formula V event
https://svra.com/events/2023-nola-speedtour/ Believe same group owns both series so SVRA and TransAm run together often so even though only 2 races, TA/SGT/GT and TA2, you get good stuff in between |

That yellow Challenger has been driven by Boris Said the past 2 years at Road Atlanta. I can't find any details, but it sounds like a 180 crank. It positively screams.
TransAm + SVRA this weeken; hope the Challenger is back. |

The 79 is on the entry list, only Challenger entered again. SVRA entry list looks decent but not great, plenty of locals not entered but with Mitty in a month that's not surprising.

If you're headed to a track for a TransAm weekend, check the schedule. I noticed the last 2 rounds were TA on Sat and TA2 the feature race Sunday. TA2 is the feature with 20-30 cars but sucks I'll miss the crowd come through the first lap Sunday at Road Atlanta

Wish I could be there, but I have to work this weekend. Really sucks but, since I own the company, I can't really complain.

Oh, two fuel system pressure issues on a diesel in 150 miles and upgrade is the plan. Might be a UHaul van for next month

Man, I really hated it for you today. It was a beautiful day, a little warm on the soccer field at 4, but would've been a perfect day at the track.

Yeah, spent the day inside with the beer I should have had and found a terrible stream of it. Boris put the car best of the rest after CD Racing. Could be interesting if something breaks up the Dyson domination

Well the track should be green today for the guys, some jackass with a pressure washer woke me at 5 am at the house and looks like he was even worse to the track. TA cars and green track should be entertaining

350 viewers of the TA race ain't good. Race is a run away for Dyson/Brabham over the field and Boris had a decent gap to 4.
Brabham seems to be taking over for Ernie Francis Jr as quick kid, he's never finished off the podium in any TA race he's run. 180+ at breaking for T10A ain't waiting around New livery for Boris too, silver and black center line. Likes the older yellow and purple |

Sounds like they're bringing 2 Dodges to Lime Rock next round so if you're local chance to catch them.
TransAm will have to have a rethink about cars with only the Mustang hanging around after this season. Have a feeling they're gonna roll with the classic cars and let them carry on |

If you're around YouTube TA2 could be interesting today, it's been storming all morning and still wet. Power and only traction control being the right foot could be interesting at the start
