Not a good sign in terms of reach for the sport that WWOS doesn’t feel it’s worth having a specific racing journo in its ranks.

Also explains the trend of his tweets in recent times….

Because Speedcafe only runs stories that County Hall approve of? Breaking the years biggest story would suggest otherwise.

Given that Nine Entertainment are making big cuts to its journalist ranks, reasonable to assume any motor sport reporting will be covered by a staff writer.

I assumed the partnership with News Corp was funding this role for Speedcafe and not a reflection on WWOS.

Someone in Supercars must have whispered in a few journos ears at the weekend to speculate on series playoffs & see what the fans think. Quite the coincidence both AA and V8Sleuth have come out with the same articles a day apart….

Yes, probably likely. Doesn’t say much for the reach of the sport though does it.

Are they relying on staff writers to produce articles for AFL, League, Soccer, Cricket, Tennis etc….?

In terms of a profession you’d think working for a larger media empire is more appealing than a niche website? Even if the work will be copy & pasted by News.

Speedcafe has signed Stefan Bartholomaeus as Managing Editor.

I thought Speedcafe was at its best when he was leading the way breaking news at the site. Makes for a strong line up.

Mr Adderton is suggesting on his socials that he is considering investing in a local platform for Motorsport media.

Hope he is able to create something.. it would make for very creative publisher’s editorials

He’s already owned a team and owned a touring car championship.

It would be great to have another outlet battling the drivel served by Speedcafe. V8Sleuth and Auto action lately, maybe get Foges involved…... Recent history though says Australian race fans don’t really care if the news sources are independent or not……
