Borja Garcia has apparently tested at Barcelona for Seville. It would be interesting to look at the times compared with GP2. I know at Vallelunga they are lapping around 12 seconds quicker than FR2000s.

I have heard the fastest time at the Barcelona shakedown test was a 1'32"097 which was driven from Davide Rigon, but with a engine rev limit by 10.000 rpm > normal for a superleague car is 12.000 rpm!

More Barcelona times...
GP2 pole time 2008: 1'27"660
LMS pole time 2008: 1'31"875
WSR best test time 2008: 1'33"478
EuroF3000 pole time 2007: 1’34”705

So without the limiter and being driven to full pace, the car might knock another second or two off of that maybe?

Few more drivers were out testing the SF cars or hanging around hoping for a drive yesterday. James Walker had a go in the Liverpool car and Jimmy Auby likewise for Tottenham. Dan Clarke and Nelson Philippe were also at Donington.

The biggest problem with this series as far as I can see is it's just another series in an already overful sector - GP2, GP2 Asia, A1GP, WSR, etc.
And the problem is??? drivers still driving in a single seater? I think it's a good idea that new series of racing are being thought off and started. Ok, maybe not all of them will be successfull, but it gives drivers some career options besides F1 and Indycars.

It's not quite that, but I can't shake the feeling that English fans are going to be disappointed with the choice...

Alex K has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
If any1 will be interested in that Formula, have my doubts.

It's got a silly gimmick and is a spec series, neither of which appeals to me. The cars do seem lovely, but if the commentators insist on screaming "Liverpool overtakes Galatasaray!" I'm afraid I won't stand a minute of it. A1GP puts me off in a similiar way.

I think this is exactly what will happen though as the whole thing has been pitched as football teams racing each other, not drivers. Like A1, that's the point of the series.

Superleague 2008

I've heard yesterday (and it is more than a rumour) that ex-F1 driver and current German F1 TV commentator Christian Danner will drive the 'Borussia Dortmund' Superleague car for the Zakspeed team at 4 of the 6 events, except Estoril and Vallelunga because of his commentator job!

Looks like a very interesting mix of drivers...

Hopefully they wil not bring back drivers like Mansell, Johansson,Warwick,Patrese and Co. otherways it will look like a GP Masters Revival

Used to cover that series, and honestly it was a blast. eventhough some of them should have stayed trackside

Danners showed in the M1 Reveival, that he still has the speed. If only his cordriver would stop talking about cooking !

Don't see why not - he didn't seem to experience too many difficulties driving a F3000 car in '05 and Grand Prix Masters in '05/'06.

Kasper Andersen for Olympiacos instead of La Rosa, Stamatis Katsimis is still the rookie driver.

Does anyone happen to know if spectators are permitted at the Donington test on Thursday? If so I'd go there before heading for Brands Hatch DTM.

From that I gather Valles is driving for Liverpool. Can't decipher the rest of that post though.
