Unfortunately I think it means Supercars miss out...on viewers.

You always hear the same story - "I'd buy Foxtel if I could pick and pay for the channels I want". Most sports now offer something to satisfy these fans/viewers.

Judging by the drop in ratings since 2014, it seems like a lot of people have been happy to miss out

AFL I can already watch on streaming.

Watched Sundays's race on Kayo.

Worked perfectly.

Foxtel cancelled.

I'm less pessimistic about the value of the next TV rights deal than many. After moderate ratings on Fox for the first couple of years of this deal, the Supercar ratings continue to grow. Nearly every race on Fox last year rated higher than the prior season.

Conversely, ratings on FTA (like everything else) is weak. The balance Supercars choose for FTA Vs exclusive to Fox will be an interesting choice.

I've been interested to watch the Fox Sports adds. 3 sports are featured - AFL, NRL and Supercars. No other sports are getting a mention.

F1-every race from Austria to Brazil last year a classic
Moto GP-3 great classes of pure racing
Supercars-not worth watching
Fixed it for you.

We had a base package at $70 a month, which is a significant increase from when we started with Foxtel with the new media deal.

The Sunday race was the first Supercars race except for Bathurst that I have watched live for years. I am usually an hour or two behind the telecast, which should alleviate any buffering issues. (I hope)

Backagain has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Living in the country, my ADSL signal travels many kilometres from the nearest relay unit through the standard tiny copper wires, download speeds are not great but I have never had any buffering problems with KAYO, it's on a holiday just now until the non televised rounds but I was very happy with what they offer.

If supercars want the sport to be a household name again, they need to get it back on free to air.

If they are happy to go the niche sport route, they shouldn't waste their time with free to air, focus on foxtel/kayo and let another motorsport category fill the free to air void.

The lack of program and schedule consistency with their current free to air arrangement is not helping their fan base or their sponsors.

Just get the races live onto FTA with a decent streaming program to build up into the future

Eyeballs are more important to the future of the sport rather than padding wallets with Foxtel money that limits your live audience to 25% of Australia for most of the races

Going to be long term ramifications across all industries and sport will be no exception. Certainly no one will be in a position to be signing TV deals any time this year the way things are looking.

Yes, I am about to join the exodus. I signed onto the discount 4k package after the AGP last year, only watched F1 and B12hr. Great picture, totally sold on it (at $48/mo not cheap though). But I am on satellite internet, and Foxtel can't offer me anything now that F1 is off the program, and paying $$$ for not watching something, even if you are not watching it in 4k, doesn't seem like a value proposition.

Fox have laid off about 200 staff with perhaps more to follow. You would seriously have to wonder how they will survive in the long term.
