Nice to see the Aston Martin Vantage in the 2:01's finally. 2:01.9 so far, but less than 2 seconds off the best GT's.

Now two of the three Audi's are in the 48's. I doubt any non-diesel will get that low.

Oak has gotten into the 1:49's with a 1:49.439, then followed it up with a 1:49.543, but then Audi goes even faster with a 1:47.761

What's even more phenomenal is that the OAK Pescarolo has been faster often times than the Muscle Milk HPD--this a near-factory developed car being out-paced by a privately developed car that can trace it's roots back over a decade.

M-Milk replied at the end and did their own 1:49.921! Not as quick, but only a half second from Oak. Nothing touched the Audi's though. Nor the Ferrari in GT. BMW came close in the 2:00.8 range but that's half a second off the lead 458

If 458 end up dominating, and get penalized with restrictions, and weight, I won't watch the bloody class anymore, enough will be enough. I might tune in when the 991 comes out.

I enjoy the comment from Pat Long about the "typical mid week at Sebring" where everyone is just sandbagging. Corvette seems to be awfully giddy this weekend. The 2:00 barrier will be broken no doubt if the "underpowered" 458 is anything to go buy.

Crash between the #55, #3 and #12.... sounds like the Audi has suffered bad damage.
Not exactly surprised to see the #55 involved after what Sean Edwards experienced with them. |

Strange how we just get word of that, and all goes quiet.
I had T&S up until the end of practice, so now I've got the BBC live text going for practice from Melbourne. Audi can probably fix things, but I hope the other cars involved can be reasonably repaired. |

Didn't realize there was another session. Two Audi's in the 47's. Back to M-Milk being best of the rest. Also 4 GT's in the 2:00 range. Aston low 2:01's- getting closer.

Not sure if everybody noticed, but Sarrazin did his magic in the night session. New team, brand new car, new tyres, limited testing, but still fastest LMP2 lap of all session (1:51.824)!

That's beating some LMP1 times. 51's are damn fast for P2.

Level 5 also did 1:51s in the ALMS winter test. See http://imsaracing.net/2012/events/se...actice%203.pdf and http://imsaracing.net/2012/events/se...actice%204.pdf.
I wonder if the other LMP2 cars can match that pace. If not, the BoP might be off. Remember that the ACO/IMSA kindly gives the HPD LMP2 engine a +1.7 mm restrictor break. |

He's driving for a WEC team, right? Or is it ALMS?
