How many drivers are hanging around and eligible, though? Kubica is the obvious choice. If the whole circus happens.

I still puzzle over all this 'Kubica the obvious choice' business. I just don't see it. If Ocon is displaced from RPFI by Stroll (an advantage for RPFI which is as oxymoronic as it gets), he's the obvious choice to me.....

Tbh for "normal" peoples it would be a no brainer for Williams to sign Ocon ASAP , he will be way more competitive than the risky choice to sign Kubica... some rumours also annunce Artem Markelov (or on a different note even Mazepin's father would inject some cash in Williams and make an all Russian team), in that case i am worried for the futur Williams, they will probably end up like Forti Corse back in the days , Team for rich kids.
But seems like Mercedes is more looking in direction of Vandoorne's seat . So either the Williams seat is already taken or Mercedes do not put much faith into Williams .... |

The way they are going they would struggle to qualify for the GP2 race.

Seems strange Merc would pay McL rather than Williams to take Ocon, so maybe Kubica has a contractual hold on a seat becoming available?

Kubica is Officialy "Williams Reserve Driver" The other strange thing would be Vandoorne Moving to Sauber (instead of Ericsson) after being supported for so long by McLaren... At the end nothing makes sense ..... but well this is Formula 1 as would say Claire Williams |

Wouldn't surprise me to see Kubica in the car at Monza, but we'll see what happens with Stroll first

Sirotkin secures his best result to date but still the sole driver with goose eggs so far this season. Surely Kubica would have scored by now.....

But then again, who knows? What we do know is that the car is completely ineffective. Putting a driver in it and assuming that he is still some way as good as he was a number of years ago still seems completely hypothetical to me.....

It's hard to believe Williams was the car to have when I watched my 1st F1 race in 1993.

Maybe the price, and I am not just talking about money here, was just too great for the Williams to swallow. |

Well, it may have taken Romain Grosjean getting disqualified to get there but Sergey's done it, he's scored a POINT!

Certainly he’s been close a few times, but now he’s done it

Have Williams turned a corner? Good improvement from them this weekend.

No they haven't. They've no downforce and a massive motor at a circuit that needs big horsepower and no downforce.
All they've done is reinforced what most people have presumed all year - that engine is flattering a car that most definitely WON'T turn a corner. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk |

Singapore will bring them back to where they belong.
Monza just suited the low aero Williams chassis. Wouldn't get too excited. |
