Tokai University not entering ? Great chance of picking up 2nd in the championship as it now stands , and the odd win if the Morgan fails .

Tokai University stopped motorsport activity.
It is because Dr. Hayashi retired.
He is developing new engine with YGK.

Hmmmm

apparently Hitotsuyama Racing has sold one of their R8 chassis to australian team, and have now ordered a "new machine" already
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Hitots...02417599846736

Thing is that they still have one R8 chassis left, so their GT300 is still possible.

Heres the interesting thing:
http://hitotsuyamaracing.net/machine/index.html

History of competing in endurance events in asia (not JGTC/SGT semi-endurance). History of competing with GT cars as well as ZYTEK PROTOTYPE CAR!

Anybody thinking what I'm thinking?
KCMG Morgan v. Hitotsuyama v. Atlantic

Now that OAK Morgan LMP2 have been sold here in Asia, I hope LOLA B12/80, Zytek Z11SN, HPD ARX-03b & Oreca 03 get to sell here as well!

well they have history and that's history.
Hitotsuyama Racing have stepped down from prototype racing since Japan LM shut down , so I can tell you that my thinking on ur thinking is 'unrealistic'.

You are right, they have ordered new machine and most likely it's for GT300 as it is their core business right now,so probably only spot entry in Fuji .....

Yes there was quite a bit of wishful thinking there, but AFAIK Hitotsuyama is one of the more "well-funded" teams in Japan. But hey, its the silly season, anything is possible

On another note, Clearwater Racing (SG) have purchased a MP4-12c GT3 car, 2013 spec. That is for running in GT Asia, but they have said that they will keep their 458's for Bathurst endurance, Malaysia endurance, and "other" events.

over speculation among teams in GT Asia the 'other' event doesn't mean Asian LM. Should be some one off blue riband event as GT Asia season busy enough for adding 2nd stream series entry for them (1 Mclaren + 2 Ferrari)

GT field getting stronger and stronger. Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 FL2 by Reiter Engineering will take part in AsLMS. Hope the team running these cars are a serious effort and give Craft Racing AMR a good fight.

After the last few attempts they had at ACO-style racing, I'm not sure they'd be allowed back that easily (despite exorcising some demons with their top-ten in Dubai).

The equipment they had wasn't really up to par for an endurance race, was it? At least they tried.

They won their class at the 1000k of Okayama in 2009. Why would they not be allowed back for having a bad experience at Le Mans?

If that was the case, Flying Lizard would NEVER be allowed back at Lemans! They always have terrible luck there.

JLOC has a lot of Gallardo's. Wouldn't surprise if they'll use their multiple Gallardo LP600+ in GT300 and then use perhaps one or two Gallardo RG-3 in the GTC class in AsLMS.

JLOC did some bad and devious things in the past ..... doesnt mean they should be chastigated for the reat of their lives , does it ?

If that was the case , we would all be up to our necks in it , wouldnt we !!!

A whisper in the wind told me China luxury car dealer Team Starchase gave up of GTE plans. Team Starchase is planning a Porsche Carrera Cup Asia comeback, but Asian Le Mans Series program ran out of budget partway through.

Same source speaks loud of two OAK LMP2 on the way to China. Asian drivers desperately needed. Seven sandwiches short of a picnic.

Well, it's not specifically for the series itself, but here are a few tidbits concerning the new circuit that the AsLMS is supposed to be visiting: Inje Autopia, South Korea.

Onboard of the short course that is already operational for track days:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajVjxpEL29E

Promotional video for the facility:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ecHfDU61ic

The place definitely looks spectacular, both in terms of the terrain/scenery, and the facilities for the track. I am wondering whether the slopes involved at some places may force them to have gravel beds for certain run-offs, as opposed to tarmac. Also, having looked at some other videos and materials, I think Inje may be rather like Fuji, in terms of the propensity for rain in the area.

There really is a huge lack of news about this championship at the moment though. The promoter keeps publishing some non-sense interviews every week. They must be pretty desperate to flirt with drivers that we all know they will not join the series.

The circuit looks very cool, hopefully there is the interest in this series and South Korean motorsport to make this a worthwhile investment. The Gulf liveried McLaren F1 in the video must surely mean that at least someone in the circuit's team has heard of Le Mans!

Fortunately, the track should be much more accessible for smaller events/users. They shouldn't have to worry about jacked-up fees, like you would expect at Yeongam or other F1 circuits, and it has the two, independently operable short courses to help out even more.

It also must be quite a bit closer to Soeul than is Yeongam. which can't hurt either.

It's funny, but I wouldn't complain about the architecture at Tilke's circuits, if it looked like a good bit more effort had been put into the tracks themselves. I say that, because while the Autopia hotel and condos in particular make strong architectural statements, the track itself is quite stunning as well.

Atlantic Racing Team closer to LMP2 deal now.

New info as follows:
Considering between ORECA 03, LOLA B12/80, and ZYTEK Z11SN.
Engine manufacturer undecided
Still looking for second driver to fill in, first driver is in so some funding is secured
Car count still the same. Aiming for 1 with the possibility of 2
