Is there anyone on the grid with genuinely deep pockets? People who don’t need to stress about searching for sponsors each season? I’ve heard Tom Chilton has a lucrative background.

Protonman should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Neate’s son Aiden is a decent driver and one I thought would have been good in touring cars . See he is in Brit GT nowadays. Don’t know what role he plays in his career . If a driver has talent I don’t mind at all if he self finances . Though he has his critics Chilton has been a great presence for many years .

Always been the type of guy who is up for a laugh . Don’t really expect him in either of the two remaining vacancies , maybe at unlimited if they run a third car . News about Zelos now being fed to others . Didnt see anything to confirm seat is filled and no spoilers from the team . Couldn’t say who might fit the bill at present . Huffy has been very quiet and if he is out of the picture at Toyota then only option at Hyundai . Would fit in well with driver profile if money available . Budget probably similar to last year
He could have course to go back to TCR where many seats remain overseas .

Google Grahame Chilton and the insurance companies he's founded, developed and sold. Tom has zero worry about budget every year, and fair play to him, he's living the dream, and he's fast with it too.

He can be quick, however he is not a team player. Yes drivers always want to be winning, but when circumstances dictate, you need to support others in your team. And this is something that he has demonstrated that he finds very difficult to do, if not impossible.

Chilton does still pick up some personal sponsors to help fund the racing (or possibly all?)
He mentions them often in interviews. it was zinzino last season. I don't think it's just a case of dad giving away the family wealth! As my late Da would always 'Them with money keep it, unless it helps their tax bills....'

You're certainly correct there, it has always been the same, even going back as far as Team Aeon in 2012 WTC with James Nash as his other team driver.
