Just *imagine* a 600-mile race on city streets! What's the average speed at a place like Toronto or Long Beach - 100 miles an hour maybe? That's a six-hour race. Would be, for want of a better term... epic.

That sounds feasible. I'm not sure the drivers would want to take part in a 600km street race, that lasts 3.85 hours.

And which cities would want to host such a race? I mean, noise restrictions and complaints...

Helsinki hosted FIA GT and F3000 races back-to-back in 1997 (3 hours for GT and 65 laps or 1 h 40 minutes for F3000) but nowadays that wouldn't be taken into account.

Ah, that makes more sense. Still a hefty race at ~2 hours if the average speed is similar to Long Beach.

IndyCar is in talks to hold an international, non-points race the weekend of Oct. 9.

It would generate more income for IndyCar, and increase the total payouts

Trips to race in Mexico and the Middle East have been mentioned as possibilities since Miles took charge of the series.
