He sounds like one of those people who thinks he knows it all, but doesn’t really know nowhere near enough as he thinks and seems to think his jokes are funny, despite no one else is laughing. Trust me I’ve known personally a few like that |

I don’t know what he does now but I think they should try to get James Allen back. I think he was a great commentator and most of the criticism was because people missed Murray Walker.

This wasn’t a relative to Murray thing. This was relative to being kicked in the head with a brown steel tow capped boot. Repeatedly. |

I think that we'd all have to accept that commentating on live sport is not an easy gig - if only we could clone Phil Liggett, I reckon we'd have an answer.
Don't get me wrong, I think that Croft is nothing short of disgraceful - all the shouting, shrieking, giggling and regular glaring mistakes are bad enough that I really do turn the volume down at times. Brundle is great and the other ex-drivers do a good job too. Personally I'd love to see Croft gone but only if we get an improvement and I simply don't know about the available talent in the UK to step up - maybe the go is to convince Hindy that F1 is more his go than sports cars? |

had the (mis) fortune of a relatively un busy weekend so ended up watching a lot of this weekend's F1 coverage...imo all the pundits really struggled to fill up that much time and really even if the sprint offered up any action i still would have been bored to death because of all their empty talking head nattering.
honestly not sure anyone past or present could have made this weekend enjoyable from a commentary perspective...there is just way too much air time to fill up. |

I thought the sound quality on C4 was poor today. I put the sub titles on and wound down the volume. The problem with all commentators these days is that they think you can't see the action so are acting like radio commentators. Please just shut up unless there is something we can't see.
And we have the dreadful Steve Jones. I thought he was off to his new gig on ITV |

Want's overly impressed by the FOM coverage at times. It was choppy, there were cuts to cameras where there was no cars on track, or to the helicopter shot, where we had to wait on cars coming into shot.
Also some of the camera locations seemed a bit off.. an example being Norris's accident. The only camera that could pick up where he stopped was from way back down the straight, the High shot was blocked by one of the bridges. Something for FOM to look at for next year |
