Isn't the one that Brock drove (in 88?) the one that Jim Richards raced (& won) in 87?

Either way Jim used at least 2 different cars to win the 1987 ATCC, and there were new cars for Bathurst & the AGP (which the team skipped), the Brock/Mobil team got the latest of the lot built. |

The car I have bought appears to be Brock's from the 88 ATCC and was shared with Jim in a round of the endurance championship that year. Jervis Ward owns the car that was Jim's from the 88 ATCC and is the Brock/Richards car from Bathurst 88. % cars known to have been built by JPS, my current car, my new car, Jervis' car and the Jagamara-Nelson "Art Car", leaving just one to find, the Crowe/Tulloch Viacard car from Bathurst 87. Can anyone tell me what the official BMW Art Cars book has to say about the Ken Done Art Car please? |

The art cars might be harder to get your hands on though, if my memory serves me correctly the insured value of the Art cars is over $1M per car!..... Amazing how much value you can add with a paintbrush and a few tins of Dulon!

Sorry Matt, it's in JPS for a while. I won't be running it until I've paid it off (should take about 15 years)

Should be Ludwig Finauer, the German JPS engineer who drove a 3rd car in a few Amscar rounds and the 2nd car in the enduros.
This car was the 325 (chassis 11013038) that Longhurst raced in 1986 before being sold to Bill Bryce at the end of the year, see log book on photo 17 of the ad. This was quite a significant car as with the information gathered from this machine, Frank Gardner was able to help persuade BMW that the M3 would be a competitive Group A car at a time when some of the European teams were doubters. |

Wasn't the first JPS M3 built up from a 325 chassis & does anyone know which one that then became?

On the Art Cars topic, I found this a little while ago. http://www.uniquecarcarriers.com.au/cars.php check out the car on the bottom left of the page! The M1 & E9 look rather nice too...

Notice in the pictures in post 3195 is a HDT VK & VL Commodore any idea on which cars these are? I am guessing these are either the David Bowden cars (even though I always thought the VL had always been #10 since its restoration) or the ex John Farrell cars from WA.

No problem in believing he may have a German heritage, but I'm pretty sure he was part of the Gardner Aussie crew long term. |

Actually, they are the ones from Peter Champion's Champions Brock Experience. If I understand things correctly from the "Commodores in Europe" thread, the #05 VL in the pictures went to Mike O'Brien for the 1988 BTCC.
