Kyle cut tire and a penalty.
I hope they cut out the damn stages next year with double headers. It really kills any kind of flow in races....do heat races if you really want to break stuff up |

Yeah, no idea how they decided the breakdowns too. And then 2 laps between an unnecessary caution and then the stage. Really?
And now a yellow for the 13 being off track. He recovered himself. Just because you want to give teams a yellow to gamble at try 45 laps to the end? |

Great, here comes the yellow for "debris" again. It didn't cut tires on the guys who drive over it. We get it, Nascar wants to suck the Bush teat but eff em. They're trash humans. And they can't drive in the rain for nothing. Kyle only caught up in the dry, in the rain he was getting passed like I was in the car

And how dumb does the Gibbs group look now. Didn't pit most of their cars and Chase pitted, tires and drive right past every one of them. When with the 95 missing the restart and pushing him back. |

Nascar had the dumbest rules. You commit to pit lane and then they put the closed light on you're screwed and get a penalty. Utterly ridiculous

Chase wins 42% of the road courses he's entered in Cup. And wins again today. And knows how to do a real burnout. Not hitting the wall and burning but multiple circles and then a good 300 yard burnout.
And Kyle is eliminated. So it's a decent day overall. |

He's gotta win COTA and Sonoma to tie Jeffy, think he's definitely the far and away favorite for COTA. Sonoma is just a mess often so it can be anyone's race.

I took forever, but they finally got the race in at Texas.
Felt kind of old school, almost, to have a tense fuel race and I actually don't mind one bit that Kyle Busch managed to win to extend his streak. |

Yeah. He needed that, been at sorts all year. And he beat Truex who is too whiney for my liking.
Is the race being delayed from Sunday to Wednesday a record? Longest delay I can remember at any rate! |

It’s kinda funny the team and crew chief have admitted Kyle needs the practice and can’t drive around problems. Oh wait, they said he’s so in tune with the car that practice time allows him to develop the best car possible. What i found really funny is none of the rest of his team has had a problem with the car so it’s not like the team has a problem with base setup.

NASCAR still has some excitement going, even if we are stuck with the dreaded chase and the stages. There was enough of it last night. At least we still have the quality of drivers in the championship
The battle between Harvick and Busch added a bit of excitement to the race and really is what the series needs So it’s all down to Phoenix, but the series still needs to sort itself out. We need to go back to simplicity. No need for gimmicks like the chase. We’ve got enough star drivers to make the series great |

If this (Kevin Harvick being knocked out) isn't the wake up call to NASCAR then stupid runs deep.
The Chase was, frankly, a bit rubbish. This elimination format sucks. The best team this year by far cannot now be champions. For me the "regular season" title is the one wuth value, but nobody ever talks about that for more than a day or two before the playoff nonsense starts. Hopefully Harvick is content to polish his race win trophies over the off season. |

I believe what NASCAR is doing, is creating more "big races". On a local level, season championships are often over-shadowed by 2-3 big races per track during the year. By having the Chase(Playoffs), it creates a group of races that are incrementally more "important" or "exciting" than the otherwise normal race.
NASCAR could easily tweek the points by guaranteeing the regular season points champion makes the final race, having qualifying be the morning of the race (single-day events still) and give playoff points for pole position through 5th. Then give your "stage points" at 1/2 way, but removing the actual stage cautions. Nothing else, leave phased eliminations in the Chase, leave the single day events, no practice or may a "Happy Hour" the day of. The product is getting good, and the schedule next year (then in 2022 with new cars and more short tracks) will make it even better. |
