Read on EI that another mfg was at Castellet to take the pulse and that a likely join is due next year. Jaguar? Maserati?

No, M-Sport did enter an Audi in a couple of British GT rounds already (the car is now being run by WRT) and the McLaren is a V8.

Nissan gt-r gt3 uses the v6 turbo derivated from the gt-r street engine. McLaren Automotive has not other choice to use modified versions of the same Ricardo M838T engine for street and race cars. Funny side of the story is that mclaren/ricardo M838T is an heavily modified version of the nissan VHR engine used in the TWR nissan R390 GT1.
