Well, at least a couple of wheels have fallen off ...........
MSNZ issued a letter on Friday stating that "... Motorsport Promotions Limited, due to financial difficulties, is to cease trading ..." the company "... is not in a position where it can continue to incur further debt ...". Poor Brian Lawrence's position as NZV8 Category Manager and Marketing Manger was terminated even though he was owed a considerable amount. MSNZ have ignored the contract with Brian because it was prepared (and apparently agreed) but not signed - seems a bit shoddy and possibly not supported by legal precedent. He had been requested to return his Toyota supplied car. Looks like this is the end of TMC/MPL - if only MSNZ had listened to the concerns of member clubs over the last few years they would not be in this position that is going to reflect poorly on the sport and no doubt cost member clubs and competitors in the pocket. |

The directors have done no more or less than many of the finance company directors who are now at HM's pleasure in Jail for their mis-deeds motivated by personal greed. TMC and the Hampton Down apartment purchase and then sale to an associate should start the ball rolling ........... so to speak. If the Directors (and resigned Directors) of the various associated entities think they are just going to be left alone after all this bad behavior and losses they have another thing coming. It’s been brewing for a long time just as Roger H reminds us…. Many will be there to see them sent down. |

If you really want to know then I would suggest you talk nicely to Roger H, as he seems to know a lot about the subject your referring too. Then he might tell you, then he might not, but at least your dealing with someone who is a straight shooter and does not talk bull****. Last edited by Woolley; 9 Sep 2012 at 21:21. |

Just wondering as there are lots on here making accusations of wrong doing, but no one saying what, which I find odd.
I personally know nothing about it and was hoping to learn something. |

Why don't we all give this nonsense a miss until some facts are established and take the time to celebrate the efforts of Mitch Evans GP3 Champion for 2012.
I for one look forward to watching Mitch achieve more International success in the future. |

What does this all mean for our NZV8s. Also with regards to Brian Lawrence it makes no difference if he has a signed contract or not. The fact he has been paid is intent and that is all that is needed for him to go to the employment tribunal and more then likely walk away with a tidy sum of money. What is concerning that it is against the law to have someone working for you on a full time basis without an employment contract. |

The average corner dairy was run better than TMC/MPL ever ran. The Lawrence contract issue is yet more evidence of the company’s total unprofessional approach to nearly everything except perhaps buying a coffee truck for use as the staff (mobile) cafe. Bet they did the research on how to make sure that worked well. Suppose it will be sold cheap to one of the associates before the receivers move in……… |

I also here that Mr Budd and Wayne Christie are running the summer series to help support clubs. Give it up you guys and focus on on righting the ship. If you had of used your brain last week Brian Laurence could of been running the series for you while you piloted the ship but you cant help your selves. |

The people on the Executive put themselves forward for election and if you listen to their electioneering blurbs they all said they were the person we should elect because they had the credentials and ability to do the job. You don't need to be an official of MSNZ to care about the sport and have input on what is happening (or not happening). Many of us contribute to the sport through club roles and other voluntary motor sport positions. It is often the case that you can have more effect sitting outside the structure rather than being part of it and out voted every time you raise a contentious issue. |
