Rombles1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Was that Sam Walter bogged somewhere that caused that? Back to green, and he is running again....

Unless it was Hell Corner cant think of anywhere that you can get bogged. Wouldn't think it would take that long to get out of the kitty litter.

I think there was a small amount of fluid on the track...they called the medical car as he was winded.

If O Kelly doesn't come out of pits soon then I'm going to guess he dropped the oil in the Chase.

Mark Winterbottom blamed for rival's crash at Bathurst
Article from: AAP

October 10, 2009 10:40am

FORD driver Mark Winterbottom is under scrutiny after an incident involving during Bathurst 1000 morning practice which has destroyed a rival's car.

Winterbottom was weaving at slow speed to put heat in his tyres, directly in front of rookie driver Sam Walter's Commodore.

Walter was forced to take evasive action, ploughing his car into a wall and doing extensive damage.

It is the third time Winterbottom has been involved in similar incidents, with Holden rivals Rick Kelly and Garth Tander also believing they were blocked by his car as they attempted to do quick laps on Thursday and Friday.

Holden Racing Team's Will Davison topped morning practice ahead of Ford-driving brother Alex and Holden's Jason Richards.

Walter's crash was one of several incidents during the session.

Three-time world superbike champion Troy Bayliss' difficult Bathurst initiation continued with his Commodore catching fire in the pits.

Front grid positions for tomorrow's 1000km race will be determined during Saturday afternoon's top 10 shootout.

Ford driver Craig Lowndes has been given the responsibility of qualifying his and Jamie Whincup's Team Vodafone car.

The duo is shooting for an unprecedented fourth successive Bathurst 1000 victory.

Lowndes was on track for a possible Mt Panorama lap record during Friday qualifying, but a red flag caused by a rival's crash cut his effort short.

Several drivers have threatened to nudge Greg Murphy's long-standing qualifying lap record of two minute 6.8594 seconds set in 2003, and could break it during the shootout if predicted wet weather stays away.

Wow if I was Taz Douglas or Sam, I'd be very angry at FPR! FPR can't stop getting in the way this weekend.

oh your kidding !!!!

The Sam walter crash was terrible , 3 problems in 3 days caused by FPR , not very good at all and some kind of penalty should be given because that was just terrible driving.

I hope the Murphy team can fix the car for tomorrow

Awesome intro by Russell Crowe. Gave me tingles...

As for FPR - how about investing in some mirrors you f**king clowns.

Allegedly baulked Rick Kelly, clearly baulked GT on a hot lap yesterday and then that appalling display...

The small teams don't need that sh*t!

FPR should be assisting the rebuild on that car.

Interesting to hear FPR's side of the story though, tough luck all round to the car in the wall.

Hard luck to #23 (Walter / Douglas)

As Taz said, they are there to do laps and they would like some respect.
But they have plenty of spares, so all the best to them.

Meanwhile, a message to FPR...WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!

Tim Edwards says Frosty was moving to get out of the way...sorry but it is up to the lead car to hold their line and the faster car to make their way around , if the lead or slower car is weaving like he was then the faster car has no idea what they are going to do.

common sense really

FPR said that Frosty was on the racing line, he saw Walter, moved off the racing line, but at the same time, Walter was going to the same line, then he's found the brakes and found the wall. A half-baked story from FPR i'm sure.

Don't be surpirsed if this is declared a racing incident (In Practice)
